    "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/SEGA/Medieval II Total War"

Hi everyone. I got as far as Software, but there is not "Sega" when I double click on Software. Can anyone tell me why?

Yes I realized that after I posted. But someone in Gamespot recommended this to me.

What do you mean by where? Like what store? Country?

Did you buy it from Gamespot? What version of the game?

No, I bought it from Target.
It's the regular version. I haven't installed any mods or anything else.

Are you trying to uninstall it for a reason? Have you tried a registry cleaner like eusing Free Registry Cleaner?

If you are trying to reinstall it, what message(s) is/are the installer giving you?

uninstall? I'm trying to get multiplayer to work. It continues to say "Invalid CD key", so I've been searching for a way to fix it.

If you just bought the game, odds are your cd-key has been stolen. You will have to contact Sega support with your sales slip, game box, manual, and dvds to have them give you a new one. Nothing new.

    Good luck.

Well I've had it for about a year so is it still considered new?

The game is at least four years old and in games, it's old.

Have you considered just using the Search function in your Registry to find SEGA? I don't see why that wouldn't work unless you don't have it at all in the first place. If the latter is the case then I wonder if you have a good install....

I have it there, just not where it said it would be.

I have a Medieval War 2 file in there, which consists of registration, Launch, Read License agreement, Readme file, and uninstall. Is it somewhere in there?

Even more important did you run the game before looking for the registry entries? The game creates the entries the first time you run it.

I'm sorry, I don't really understand what you mean by regestry entry. Like are you asking if they asked for my CD Key upon installing?

Did they ask for your cd-key when installing is what I should have asked first so be it asked now?

I do not really remember if they did when I FIRST installed it. But my computer contracted a virus, so I had to reinstall, and I'm 100% sure they asked me for it then.

IF it did, it would be in the registry.

Have you had trouble with any other programs since the virus?

Yes: In fact, I can't, for some reason, install Rome: Total War again. I forget what it told me, but I then installed MW 2.

Where can I see the registry?

Oh. Well I kinda knew that.

I was looking around and saw:

First follow the link provided earlier and modify your cd key to have all capital letters and 0's rather than O's. Then log onto gamespyid.com and check out your profile to make sure that you have all of the ID info correct.

I did that and was still getting "Fail to Logon" with no other explaination. I turned off my anti-virus and tried again, works fine. Every time that I want to play online i have to turn off my anti-virus software, but its a small issue to deal with.
I could have an anti-virus software that is the problem!

But.. I don't know how to turn it on/off.
