    Default Noah's Ark Discovered?

Good news! Noah's Ark has been discovered in Turkey...

Hong Kong - A group of Chinese and Turkish evangelical explorers said on Monday they believe they may have found Noah's Ark - 4 000m up a mountain in Turkey.
The team say they recovered wooden specimens from a structure on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey that carbon dating proved was 4 800 years old, around the same time the ark is said to have been afloat.
"It's not 100% that it is Noah's Ark but we think it is 99.9% that this is it," Yeung Wing-cheung, a Hong Kong documentary filmmaker and member of the 15-strong team from Noah's Ark Ministries International told AFP.
The structure had several compartments, some with wooden beams, which were believed to house animals, he said.
The group of evangelical archaeologists ruled out an established human settlement on the grounds that one had never been found above 3 500m in the vicinity, Yeung said.
Local Turkish officials will ask the central government in Ankara to apply for Unesco World Heritage status so the site can be protected while a major archaeological dig is conducted, Yeung added.
The biblical story says God decided to flood the earth after seeing how corrupt it had become, and told Noah to build an ark and fill it with two of every animal species.
After the flood waters receded, the Bible says, the ark came to rest on a mountain. Many believe that Mount Ararat, the highest point in the region, is where the ark and her inhabitants came aground.
How many times has the Ark been "discovered" now anyway? Six times? Suckers.

I wonder what they have, infact, found though. Is this the anomoly they're digging in anyway? I've always wondered why no one ever just dug that thing up to find out once and for all what it is.

All they seem willing to reveal is that they found some petrified wood on the mountain range called "Ararat" but this is not the first time somebody made that claim. I find it very suspicious that "Noah's Ark International Ministries" found the Ark. Their reasoning seems a bit circular to me. How do they know they found the Ark? Because they found some old wood. How do they know the wood is the Ark? Because it's where they expected it to be! They have "ruled out" the find being a settlement because no settlement in the region is found that high up. Their methodology seems a bit flawed.

I don't think this is the famous anomaly. But then again any info on the topic is scarce.

They're christians, ofcourse they'll jump to the conclusion that it's the Ark because that's what they want it to be. Until it's fully excavated and proven to be ship-like in layout all they'll have are weak claims.

With all those animal couples onboard, it really should be called "The Love Boat" instead.

Default Noah's Ark believed to have been found in Turkey - Scientists reported

Scientists have founded new proof of biblical stories

In brief: Archaeologists have no doubts that their finding is nothing else but biblical Noah’s ark.

Chinese scientists say they have found the Noah’s ark on the Ararat Mountain in Turkey. The finding is on 4000 meters high. The hydrocarbonaceous analysis shows the age of the construction is about 4800 years old.

Archaeologists have no doubts that their finding is nothing else but biblical Noah’s ark. The proofs are obvious: the Ararat Mountain, the age of 4800 years old and the model of construction. The ark consists of several separated rooms. The version that this could be a destroyed housing is denied because there are no people living around.

Noah's Ark believed to have been found by archaeologists

Was Noah's Ark found by a team of archaeologist that were working in Turkey on Mount Ararat? The archaeologist team believes they have found the remains of Noah's Ark at an altitude of 4000 m.
A huge structure with wooden beams that were separated into a number of different compartments has been found. Carbon dating puts the find's age to be 4,800 years old which is consistent with the biblical flood records.
The archaeologist team reveal they can't be 100% sure but they have stated that they are 99.9% certain that it is in fact Noah's Ark. They now plan to seek a UNESCO World Heritage Listing while their find is being further investigated.
In Schagen Netherlands a local man was previously reported to having built an exact replica of Noah's Ark. Johan Huibers began building in May 2005 and is reported to have built every sq. inch on his own. The only difference is that Huiber did build his ark with more modern day tools using cedar and pine.
Huibers Ark measures 150x30x20 cubits and is in equal size to two thirds of a football field being as tall as a three story building.
Huiber's now shares his finished work with the public and allows visitors to walk through the Ark. Once on board the visitors are greeted by life size replicas of animal pairs. This ark also has something that Noah's didn't a 50 foot theater where families can enjoy a movie depicting the story of Noah's Ark. This sounds like a great place to visit the only catch is to view Huiber's Ark you will have to be visiting The Netherlands.

Has Noah's Ark Been Found on Turkish Mountaintop?

The remains of Noah's Ark have been discovered 13,000 feet up a Turkish mountain -- according to a sensational claim by evangelical explorers.

A group of Chinese and Turkish evangelical explorers say wooden remains they have discovered on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey are the remains of Noah's Ark.
The group claims that carbon dating proves the relics are 4,800 years old, meaning they date to around the same time the ark was said to be afloat. Mt. Ararat has long been suspected as the final resting place of the craft by evangelicals and literalists hoping to validate biblical stories.
Yeung Wing-Cheung, from the Noah's Ark Ministries International research team that made the discovery, said: "It's not 100 percent that it is Noah's Ark, but we think it is 99.9 percent that this is it."
There have been several reported discoveries of the remains of Noah's Ark over the years, most notably a find by archaeologist Ron Wyatt in 1987. At the time, the Turkish government officially declared a national park around his find, a boat-shaped object stretched across the mountains of Ararat.
Nevertheless, the evangelical ministry remains convinced that the current find is in fact more likely to be the actual artifact, calling upon Dutch Ark researcher Gerrit Aalten to verify its legitimacy.

“The significance of this find is that for the first time in history the discovery of Noah’s Ark is well documented and revealed to the worldwide community,” Aalten said at a press conference announcing the find. Citing the many details that match historical accounts of the Ark, he believes it to be a legitimate archaeological discovery.
“There’s a tremendous amount of solid evidence that the structure found on Mount Ararat in Eastern Turkey is the legendary Ark of Noah,” said Aalten.
Representatives of Noah's Ark Ministries said the structure contained several compartments, some with wooden beams, that they believe were used to house animals. The group of evangelical archaeologists ruled out an established human settlement on the grounds none have ever been found above 11,000 feet in the vicinity, Yeung said.
During the press conference, team member Panda Lee described visiting the site. “In October 2008, I climbed the mountain with the Turkish team. At an elevation of more than 4,000 meters, I saw a structure built with plank-like timber. Each plank was about 8 inches wide. I could see tenons, proof of ancient construction predating the use of metal nails."
We walked about 100 meters to another site. I could see broken wood fragments embedded in a glacier, and some 20 meters long. I surveyed the landscape and found that the wooden structure was permanently covered by ice and volcanic rocks."
Local Turkish officials will ask the central government in Ankara to apply for UNESCO World Heritage status so the site can be protected while a major archaeological dig is conducted.
The biblical story says that God decided to flood the Earth after seeing how corrupt it was. He then told Noah to build an ark and fill it with two of every animal species.
After the flood waters receded, the Bible says, the ark came to rest on a mountain. Many believe that Mount Ararat, the highest point in the region, is where the ark and her inhabitants ran aground.

Carbon dating? No such thing exists. I'm sorry but this is heresy and will have consequences.

So we are to believe all living animals resulted from incestuous relationships, thats cool and what about *****ing your own rib bone, how do you manage that. Imagine the birth defects resulting from this, I wager that the Dinosaurs were on the Ark and that's why they are exstinct, coudln't survive the birth defects.

    Hi all,

Why do pretty much ALL of you who have posted so far get upset at a potential biblical archaeological find?

You seem to be re-acting rather than trying to be objective about the matter, even IF Christians and Muslims found something resembling Noah's ark.

There are PLENTY of other legitimate biblical archaeological finds. Why don't you take a look at those legitimate finds?

Smells like a fast BIAS welling up too quick around here.

    Wake up time kids,
