Dropping from the game

My brother and have been trying to play an MPC but we have been getting frequent drops during campaign turns and even more duing battles (one of the most frustrating things ever!). We both have decent connections and live nearby each other, and sre both plugged into UK Steam server.

I rarely if ever have this prob with other MPC or battle partners.

Could this be a bug specific to our campaign?

I am hosting and my brother dropped fro the same battle 4 times last night! Every time was after dployment phase when battle had started. I suspect in this case it mght have been because we were both downloading the new steam client in the background. Could this have caused it and did anyone else experiecen similar problems at or around the time of the new client upgrade?

Feedback and suggestions would be most welcome as I REALLY don't want to have to start again.

I would check your ports on your router to make sure they are open to accept traffic for steam and NTW.

i think you would find the port numbers somewhere on this forum

could also be a firewall issue or you may need to verify your game files

in my experience however mp campaigns r easy corupted so you may need to return to an earlier save

It's mostly likely a bug. I'm nearly certain of that - there are a few MPC bugs that haven't been (and won't be) fixed, and they usually occur after a siege or the deployment phase of a certain battle. If it's a connection issue then Hamachi would solve it. Download that and join the Total War Online network using password 'lol'.

Thanks for advice. I think is it was a corrupted MPC file it woudl crash at end of turn or not load at all. As it is we are getting into battles and then the battle freezes, and my brother drops. I suppose it could be to do with game files, though neither of us have any mods loaded and thise i did hace loaded i cleaned out completely.

Note also that this problem only occurs when we play together - otherwise I have had almost zero problems.

I am guessing that Spor is right and it is indeed a bug. The strange thing is that in the battle we have tried to play like 4 times (!) it gets to different stages before dropping one of us - sometimes within 2 mins of starting. but once we got a good 20 mins into the battle before it decided it had had enough ... Could it be to do with our game settings maybe - would matching graphics settings etc make a difference perhaps?

we had some similar issues in our last MPC (a friend and me). we fixed it with me(the host) sending him our last savegame. it worked. maybe this could help you,too.

r0x. Thanks for this advice. Just to clarify, on receipt of the savegame, should my brother just put it in the same folder where I found it? should he replace any files with it?
