    Default Any Reinforcement Systems around?

    Hello!

Before I begin, I'd first like to say; what a wonderul and amazing mod this is! This is certainly the best and unmatched mod in the whole Total War: Kingdoms serie, and it has given me endless fun and satisfaction(as well as frustrations xD)!

But in all this good, I think it would be possible to add something more.

I have played both Medieval 2 and Empire, and though I prefer Medieval, I can't help but miss things I saw in Empire.

In Empire, it was possible to "mark" units for refilling/replacement. Say after a battle, one of your units had taken losses, it would be possible to "mark" the unit, and a turn or two later, you'd be taxed and have the unit refilled and replenished, allowing you to make whole battle worn stacks battle ready and ideal for a fast conquest in a few turns instead of having to deal with endless long supply routes and a constant lack of troops.

I find that the biggest problem in my campaigns that I can't replenish my stacks. And even harder it becomes because I cannot reqruit troops in the settlements I capture due to culture and such.

As Mordor, I have a kill/death ratio going around one dead Orc for every 30 of 60 enemy killed, sometimes even 100! But even then, my armies are slowly whittled down after having to fight stack after stack, and I eventually have big problems with getting enough troops as there's miles and miles to go to nearest town that can reqruit troops, and even FURTHER to the nearest town which can retrain my Trolls/Uruks.

I'm wondering if such a system would ever be implented, or if there is any sub mod around which allows for this(Empire: Total War reinforcement system)?

It just feels silly playing as the mighty Mordor while having an acute manpower problem

And NO, my avatar is the coat of arms from the Teutonic Knightly Order because they're awesome.

No, it's an ETW mechanic that doesn't exist in M2. Just develop the towns you capture so you can retrain in them and have reinforcements trailing behind the main army that you can use to replenish losses.

It's very slightly different but did somebody not once suggest that you could make the recruitment pool of settlements to be a number less than 1, therefore allowing the retraining of units outside of their home recruiting locations?

i.e. You have a unit of Swan Kinghts in Minas Tirith who are at 75% strength (numbers). Instead of having to march them all the way back to Dol Amroth (x turns there + retrain turn + x turns back) you would have a recruitment pool of 0.9 in MT so you could bring them back to strength. The logic behind this being that a small number of individuals could make the journey to reinforce a single unit.

This might not be applicable to your Mordor campaign (are Guards of B-dur vanilla?) as much because I don't think this would include hidden resources and they don't have many settlement-specific units, but would help any other faction with region/city specific units (Marines, Helmingas, Erebor Axe). It's mainly 'good' factions if you think about it, but would help armies on the march. I find it irritating to have to go all the way back to the original settlement to retrain. Also, doesn't sending reinforcements behind and merging make units lose exp when retrain doesn't?

This might help you. I dont have a link, although I'm sure searching would turn up an answer. In fact, I'm thinking of doing it myself.

Problem is that units like Lossarnach axemen or blackroot vale archers are well.. From lossarnach or the blackroot vale. Making them retrainable anywhere would be unfitting.. And would make things to easy.

Yes, they are from those places but a few individuals could travel to these locations to be a small number of reinforcements. It is probably worth making it clear I'm not suggesting that they should be recruitable anywhere, just retrainable in small numbers to prevent lengthy treks back to homelands.

Granted it might make things too easy, but it's important to make the distinction between 'easy' - the game is not challengingly difficult, and 'easy' - it is less annoying...

    Discuss. Or don't.

There was some submod who did it, but I can't remember it's name.

Indeed, I am sure there was a submod for it that did this. I never used it though.
