    Icon8 Assassins Too Weak SS6.2

    SS 6.2[Vanilla] France Medium Hard Late Period [No other Mods installed]

    Sorry if this has been discussed already ; but I could not find any posts to this effect; anyway;
    I've been playing this wonderful mod ever since it came out; and I've noticed that no matter what assassins I hire via a Coaching House in Paris; the success rate for the hit is anywhere between 10-35%.
    Currently at war with HRE and I am sending assassins to kill off all the family members; as many as possible; in HRE. Is there any way to INCREASE that success rate either by building a Pleasure Palace or by "manipulating" the user texts for assassins to increase strength/success rate. I know this is cheating; but it is getting a bit frustrating; especially after waiting all those turns in building a Coaching House[Paris].

    Just build the highest "inn" buildings you can and try to get an assassin guild (burn down any other guild you have in the "Assassin city").Also build a gunsmith if available.
    This should get your assassins starting at about 5 eyes unless you're very unlucky.
    After that just get on assassinating, try to assassinate targets between 50-80% chances to grow more eyes (remember to save always before attempting)

    Otherwise if you want to up your game and cheat, you can go to export_descr_character_traits.txt, look for naturalassassinskill and set "Effect Subterfuge" from 1,2 and 3 to 10 for all threee levels. This will make all assassins start with 10 eyes.

    Alternatively you can go into descr_campaign_db.xml (notepad) and look for assassinate_chance_min, set it to 99 and the max to 100.

    One word: 'Grooming'.

    Just because you have a good unit producing building it doesn't mean the tactical units (as opposed to the battle units) will suddenly be produced at exceptional levels. You need to groom Merchants, Priests, Spies, and Assassins or they will always be 'average' no matter how good your provinces and buildings.

    Start them on killing rebel captains, low-end diplomats, charmless princesses, and as they gain the traits move them onto faction captains, priests etc. As they climb the ladder to 6,7,8 star units you will find that your chances of taking out Generals rises too.

    Unless it's a good way above a 50% chance I wouldn't bother trying, but the point is that you develop your units so they can decimate an enemy army via murder of its Generals. I often use trained assassins to soften-up the opposition before attacking.

    If it were easy you could wipe a faction out in a couple of turns just via assassination...... or, as someone else has said you could just cheat

    I've noticed this also. I just add some stats to my assassins as soon as they are trained.

    give_trait this GoodAssass 1-5 1-5 skill points
    give_ancillary this catamite 1 skill points
    give_ancillary this dancer 2 skill points

    I think assassins are too good. I lost a game yesterday because of them. Italian cities mini-campaign, I played as the Milanese, and they start with only one settlement and 2 FMs. So HRE's assassins killed both of them on the second turn. And remember, these guys were FL and FH, which are harder to kill then some random FM.
