I think what you're asking is why all the factions don't appear as playable in a hotseat campaign. SS has more factions than vanilla, so not all of them will appear on the selection menu.

To change this, you have to do a very simple edit of descr_strat: you just move whatever factions you want playable to the playable list, and then move a corresponding number of factions to the unplayable list.

    change this
    Code:
    campaign imperial_campaign
    playable
        england
        france
            hre
        spain
        venice
        sicily
        milan
            scotland
            cumans
            byzantium
            russia

            portugal
        poland
        hungary
            knights_templar
            lithuania
            kievan_rus
            aragon
            ireland
            norway

        papal_states
        mongols
        teutonic_order
        jerusalem
        slave
    end
    to, say, this
    Code:
    campaign imperial_campaign
    playable
        england
        france
            hre

            aragon
            ireland
            norway
            kwarezm
    end
    unlockable
    end
    nonplayable
      cumans
            byzantium
            russia
        moors
        turks

Not all factions are playable in hotseat - you have to switch them around.

Instead of bumbing the topic you could have used that hour to figure out the search function.

    Try
    6.2 Hotseat issues

First of all, the Late Campaign files can be found in Medieval II\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data\world\maps\campaign\custom\(don't remember this one, but there's only one folder)
Early campaign is in \data\world\maps\base and \data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign
You'll have to switch the campaigns, make sure you put everything in the right folder.

There are threads with the proper steps to play late era hotseat. I found it without difficulty. Really, the search feature is not hard to use.

Doublecheck your changes. You either missed files or missnamed or missplaced...

Maybe Joris can jump in here... that way I could stop channeling him.
