I do enjoy the very large and diverse selection of troops in this mod. BUT, I have no clue as to what unit (when recruited) will become a general. In the vanilla version of Rome Total War all you had to do was recruit a unit called "General's Bodyguards" and the next round you would have a new general. I'm not really lacking in Generals at this point in time, but I would still like to know what unit becomes a General.

Also I know that the main campaign in this mod takes place in 410 CE, but what is the maximum year limit that the campaign will go too? Also, is that limit determined solely by a set number of turns or by a specfic date? I ask that since I know you can make each year into 4 turns rather than 2.

Also I want to thank you guys/gals for making this excellent mod.

If I recall correctly ( it's been quite a while since I've played ), there are no recruitable "General characters" such as in vanilla BI in 7.03.

I've played 7.03 to around the end of the 7th century, I think. I honestly don't know what the limits are.

Some more questions... If no one that posts here knows the answers please tell me. Also If any of my questions seem to be stupid, please tell me. Also if you need me to rephrase a question, please let me know. If you can only answer one of my questions or even just partial answer it then please post a reply.

Please tell me if I understand this correctly. Due to the changes this mod makes to the game (Rome Total War: Barbarian Invasion) the AI behaves in a manner that makes the game easier when it is set (in the campaign map) to very hard or hard. This is in comparison to playing the game with the campaign map difficulty set to medium.

Also, can anyone tell me if the AI behaves in a manner that makes them easier to defeat, when the battle difficulty setting is set to very hard?

Also, does the difficulty setting of the battles effect the AI troop movements on the campaign map?

Can anyone tell me what bonuses (if any) the AI receives when the battle difficulty is set the Very Hard or Hard settings.

Will setting just the battles to very hard and the campaign to medium, will that make the AI play smarter and their troops much tougher in battle?

If no one can answer any of my other questions, could someone please tell me what combination of difficulty settings will give me the most difficult challenge. I'm not looking for historical accuracy or for the computer to not cheat. I just want a good fight.

I'm just into my 3rd turn on the game and I have already sacked 3 cities and destroyed 2/3 (over 6000 soldiers) of the Visigoth horde with my 2000+ man army (I lost about around 800-900 men though ). Both the campaign and the battles are set to very hard.

Any answers would be most appreciated.

hehe, you try the visigoths, now go to the far east appreciate the sassanid terror

when i first invade syria, its seems impossible and I even had nightmares at night!

the only way was tough troops with high experience, and of course, good generals forged in the heat of the eastern deserts and hardened in battle against those damn zoroastrians hahaha

believe me, the game battles in the east are a true challenge
