    Default DLV / Faction Banners

i guess i am looking for an answer of tokus maximus..

id like to use your/the dlv faction symbols and banners for my (private) mod that builds on the grand campaign mod.

can i download these files anywhere or can you create an archive and upload them please?

also where exactly do i have to replace them wich vanilla ones?

also deaus lo vult should use medieval 1 totalwar portraits, they have more character - this is only a random suggestion. if well received i d offer them oncei am done

Of course you can use them for your private mod.

Shadrach created a new file system that doesn't use the old TGA symbol files or locations. You'll have to pick 'n' pluck the new symbols off our mod TGA files found on your main disc drive that you play M2Tw off and put them onto the TGA files your personal mod game uses; one for each culture. There's also the mini-versions. It drives me nuts and makes me want to lie down just thinknig about the folder structures, where, and what.

The maddening part of modding! Turns my head to mince!

Lovely examples - brings back fond memories... I try to add lots of classic painted event pics - adds to the atmosphere... Haven't done portraits before now.

thanks- can u be a little bit more specific where the files for faction symbols and banenrs are in dlv and where they need to go in my mod if u dont mind. never worked with faction symbols.

it would help already if you could tell me which files are needed for a faction symbol and for a banner

i believe for a faction symbol i need a symbol pic in 3 sizes? is that correct? i couldnt find all 3 sizes of your faction symbols in the dlv mod when i looked yesterday

    Ahlerich,

It turns my brain into mince when I try to even think about where each symbol goes and what not. Fortunately Shadrach made it a lot easier with new code of coordinates. I'm really just a 2D art hack and know very little about the folders - as my bungled sub-mods so frequently incorrect and errors will testify.

If you're making a mod check out the tutorials. Sorry to be so useless - but I'm an old fossil who brain has long since petrified.

    @ Ahlerich
You could try downloading Symbols improvement Project [SiP]
Just open the .rar file and you will find out (easily) the folder structure that is used to change symbols
    Cheers

A mini-mod is never late! Nor is it ever early. It arrives precisely when I mean it to do!

cool, thanks. i will do that after work. will that be the structure of dlv or of vanilla? or is dlv same as vanilla? tokus info about the different method of implementing them confuses me a bit.

    no worries mate, thanks anyways.

problem with the faction symbol tutorials is that they are all extremely bloated and explain the whole process of creating faction symbold. i found no "to the point" instructions yet how to implement them.

and i am sitting in fron of an computer all day at work so in the evening i dont have the patience to read through pages of tutorials just to find those 2 or 3 lines that matter for implementing..

    Thanks Agis.

Ahlerich, my comisserations too... I earn my living in front of a screen and hate spending any longer in front of one (unless it's playing M2TW!) Look into Agis' download - check out the folders and you'll soon get used to the structure of where the .TGA files that hold the different symbol sets for the various cultures. Good luck with your private mod and all the fun of seeing you own version. Not going to lead you through all the processes in detail - you'll suss it out. You can do it!

    best of luck,
