    Default Character Face Cards

Is there any way to control WHICH character card appears in the panel - ie. the "face" that the general, spy, diplomat etc has ?

I made some very minor changes in descr_strat.txt (mainly the order of the faction settlemnts - for ease of viewing/searching during my modding) and now all the general's faces (of any given faction) are mixed up. The same faces are there for any given faction but all are assigned to a different general than originally.

PS - I had also made sure to erase the old map.rwm file with each change.

I did a search using some of the character names but I did not see any file that referred to any ".TGA" face-files such as those used for unit & unit_info cards.

This doesnt seem to impact the game in any other way, but it is a little annoying to see different faces (esp. younger looking ones on the faction leaders) than the original ones when starting a campaign.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Kind Regards,

No. You can have custom character cards linked to a certain general in alexander, but not in rtw and bi.

I experimented a little and it appears that the "top-down" order that the cities of a faction AND its' armies (in descr_strat.txt) determine which faces appear on all the initiating characters of said faction.

Also, I noted that the first city of a faction is default-set to it's capital.

But, try as I might, with nearly ALL 5-general the combinations of the starting lineup of the greek_cities, I could never get both Kleomenes AND Pyrrhus to be the same as in the original setp.

I think that the game determines which culture of faces it need to use (greek, roman, eastern etc) and then assigns them 1-for-1 from its' own internal list in the order that they appear in descr_strat.txt top-down for that culture. So when I shifted around blocks of factional data inside descr_strat.txt, it shifted the characters' faces.

Anyway, minor point - I can go back to the prior descr_strat.txt file and put up with the out-of-orderness for this file during my modding.

As always, thanks for your help Florin80.
