Default Are Thureophoroi/Heavy Peltasts recruitable for Selecuid in 1.6a ?

Just wondering whether the Selecuids can recruit Thureophoroi/heavy peltasts in 1.6a ? So far I've only been able to hire mercenary skirmishers but only plain ordinary peltasts even after upgrading building types. Playing as Carthage theyre available from the get go.

Nope. Only standard peltasts ("brown shirts"). Later you get the Seleucid "Legionaries" who also have some skirmish-power.

the silver legionaires are like the roman ones but less powerfull and why would you need those "heavy" peltast?
    I meen:
    1. they're more expensive
    2. they throw less peltast
    3. they're not better in melee or anything.

personally.. i find the Silver Shield legionaries get mauled quiet badly, esp against other heavy infantry units so it's nice to have a unit that' s got more bite than your normal "greek peltasts" but doesn;t cost a pretty packet. What I really like about them..:

    1. They're cheap, esp compared to the Silver legionaries and when used in a large number 6-8 they pack a serious punch.
    2. I think they have more javelin's then your standard peltasts and legionary - well thats my experience esp of the Thureophoroi.
    3. Spears - the ability to switch to spears after they have thrown all of their javelin's make them really handy, esp if your about to get flanked by cavalry.
    4. Bigger shield and thus better defense over a normal peltast and yet still mobile.

I've been using them heavily in my Carthage campaign (H/VH) and they are my core unit with 6-8 per army and so far they've been more than holding their own even against the elite swordsmen, heavy cavalry from Gaul, - my 3 stacks have wiped out 7-8 full stack armies sent by the Gauls without too many losses. They can get mauled a bit but they are really handy to have.

Carthage has taken all of North Africa (West of Thaspus), Spain, Sicily, all of lower Italy (inc Capua) and a nice chunk of lower Gaul and the core of those units have been the "heavy" peltats/Thureophoroi, so it would be nice to have them for Seleucids esp against those pesky Parthian/Armenian Cataphracts!

Had to laugh at number 2 "Throw less peltast".
Peltastai are named after the "pelte" shield they traditionally carried, not their javelins!

oh come now, surely you can add a serrated edge to a shield and throw it?

I'd rather have hypaspists for macedon and greeks. Basically the only thing I miss from XGM.
