Hi all, Im a long-time fan but very rarely use my account here.

Anyway, Im having a major problem with getting the motivation to complete a campaign, I almost always lose interest after 20 turns or so.

To be honest I think Im too good...

Seriously, I win 95% of all battles using childishly easy tactics (ie, as Rome, put infantry into single solid line, set to Guard Mode and Fire At Will, sit back and relax) and my economy always sky-rockets. Within 20 turns I usually have at least 50,000 in the pot.

And also I just can't get the motivation, I quite literally get bored. I also hate attacking, especially sieges, I usually take 60% casualties in a city fight.

So does anyone have any suggestions? Im also looking to start a new campaign on RS2 and can't decide which faction

Yeh I know the feeling. What I do is watch Gladiator in HD or other movies like that, then you get a bit of a boost to keep it going. Or even leave it for a time play some other games and when you get back to it in two or three weeks you will be ready to slice some more jagulars!

Or walk to the nearest pub start a fight and when you are out of the hospital you will have all the haterid and agression to fuel you motivation for some good old mass genicide!

Did you play on H/VH? If not try that. If yes, you'll try RS2's medium and find it hard. RS1.5 (and 1.6) were simply easier, and the player was advised to play on H/VH to truly enjoy the game. Now, RS2 will be different. As everything is completely redone, you will need to use good tactics and you will get minor heart-attacks in every major battle. From what the beta-testers say, a campaign in RS2 will be anything but boring.

And if you don't know which faction to start with... well if it really doesn't matter to you, it should be Rome - they have the legions at least which are, after all, the real trademark of the mod (beside the environment, the trait system, the models, the unit stats, the AI, the map...........)

Lol fair enough, Ive been playing on H/VH and like I say the AI seems to think slamming into a wall of javelins followed by Hastati and Princepes a good idea...

I'll probably try playing with some extra house rules to make it more interesting, I keep getting the itching feeling to do an AAR again. Does anyone know when RS2 is released? Next few days? Weeks? MONTHS?

BTW: I know the feeling, I don't know if you have unlimmited ammo or anything but change that kind of stuff makes it harder. Or if you're any good at modding make you're enemies very very very very very powerfull in a provincial campaign give for example gaul a region in northern Italy with 1 full stack with a 10 star general. Do the same with every other faction you think is to easily beaten and Voilá a harder campaign
