Default Building navy in a blocked port and intercepting :)

I've got one naval port that's been blocked by an enemy fleet. I've got my own army in the fort, enemy ships just outside.

I've built a sloop to fight the blockade but the game's not releasing it, it's stuck on ZERO turn to complete with a green background in the queue.

Is there a way to fight a blockade if you only have 1 port? SHould I be able to build ships and fight the attacker. I should mention there's very little space around the port on the sea front, it's surrounded by land.

Another thing, when you get intercepted by an enemy army and let the timer run out, do they win or do you?

can't really say for the first, but for the second:

being intercepted counts you as the attacker, so you have to win before the time runs out. otherwise you can't proceed on your path

If your port is being blockaded you cannot build anything from that port nor can any unit inside the port sail out to attack.

Also keep in mind that intercepting won't work if the AI fleet can make it to their target in one move.

    OK that makes sense, thanks.

Question: How am I supposed to defend my trade routes with my one and only port blocked? Is there any way to do this apart from capturing another port and building a fleet?

On a side note. I'm playing as Poland on H/H I think the game starts in 1700? By 1760 I had all of Austria wiped out, in the meantime Prussia declared war on me, Ottoman Empire shortly after. I've also had a couple of rebellions in the captured regions that I had to defeat. The AI is very agressive attacking me every turn, I have to constantly move my armies and every battle is an all or nothing for me. Even losing too many soldiers means game over as I won't be able to defend against the next wave. Prussia just keeps coming. I'm short of funds, short of soldiers, hanging on to the 8 regions I captured early on for dear life and gasping for breath every turn.

Now late 1707 things are slowly looking up, as in I'm only fighting armies that are about twice my size. I've had two really EPIC siege defensive battles, bought won by a thread. My armies are getting second wind with lots of expierience and my Generals also, I think it's time to counter - attack Prussia soon!

Overall the game is pretty epic and lots of fun after all the changes. I've got little reason to complain.

The only thing that bothers me now is a fleet of 20 Ottoman ships blocking my only port. How am I ever supposed to beat that? I've been investing the scrapes I got from trade and taxes into armies every turn, having attacked and taken Breslau from Austria in Turn 1!

Hi, this is my first post. been playing this game since Shogun though

i am not familiar with the situation of Poland but maybe you can try to get more overland trade routes. or invest what money you have available in money making buildings such as mines.

Last but not least. Capture an easy province and sell it to a faction with whom you are allied.

    Hope I helped out!
