I just took over Moria as dwarves, and all of the special buildings are gone, does this mean I cannot recruit the guards of khazad-dum?

I guess you sacked/exterminated it? That's what sometimes happens when you so. It's a shame that they are not indestructible.
But as far as I know Guards of Khazad-Dum are not recruited through a special building, but via the last barrack building.

Hahaa shiat, yeah I sacked it.. =.= OMG, a whole campaign wasted, I miss the guards if those buildings are the source of recruitment..

You only need the hidden ressource for this, not the special building.

Oh good! so I just build mithril mines?? I remember in my last campaign being able to recruit them without mithril mines

You don't need ther Mithril mine, only the highest barrack building.

Anyway, it's better not to sack "special" settlements. I like special buildings and their description, and like even more their bonuses

I didn't notice til 2 or 3 turns after that the buildings were gone, so I cannot do that.
