Default Great mod, it's a shame I'm terrible

First off, I'd like to say that this is the only mod that I've enjoyed, it's quite simple in a way and to be honest that's what I've wanted from the start and it's very well done. So props.

But Im currently playing M/M with Romans and I can't help but see the future of me getting pushed down to Capua by turn 10 lmfao. Or even worst. By the Gauls. Not to mention the remnants of Hannibals army to the South. I was able to kill Hannibal but there is still some 1.4k soldiers left now led by a new Captain. And luck would have it that I was moving south with Flavius and there was Theophanes by himself hiding so I took him down. But his whole army is still to the west, a thousand more strong than Flavius' troops.

So yeah, basically, I'm pretty I'm going to get raped in the long run, I tried to follow that How to survive the first 15 steps topic but I can't even put my Arrimium troops to Genua before Gaul attacks it. So I'm probably going to play Easy/Easy.

lol, na stick with it. It takes some practice to get used to the battles but once you do you should do well. First time i played SPQR was epic, i was beaten down to just owning three cities, crying and nearly punching my computer in frustration, when all of a sudden something clicked and i was able to win battles. Best advice i can give, use front two (hastari and pricpe) to hold the line, and try and get everything else to flank. Sending a unit of triarii into the backsides of them gauls usually breaks them. Also if your struggling with the elephants (i know i was when i started) have a look at the SPQR help guide which is in my signature. that has some helpful information.

the best advice for you is to just stick with it. the first 50 or so turns are usually very hectic and frustrating, but once you get past that 50 turn mark (or there about) things seem to settle down(at least from my experience). However by no means will it become easy it just becomes much more manageable. But then you will be facing a new challenge the challenge of expanding the Republic and eventually turning it into and empire.

oh and dont hesitate to ask questions, because from my experience all of the SPQR veterans are nice people who like to help others enjoy the SPQR experience.

Easy wont be very much easier, your better off staying the course. Our society today is taught to GIVE UP when they fail or come up against resistance. Years ago many fell off the horse to keep getting on till they mastered it. You need to do the same, dont give up if others can do it so can you, none of us are better than you, so keep trying till you win.
