do you play evil faction?

very simple question. personally, i dont. not on any game/strategic/moral grounds, its just that whenever i play evil i feel like the "poor" good factions of Middle Earth will get stomped by my armies.

im an extremely capable general. if i add that to mordor, its not a challenge, its a pushover.

You should try playing as ootmm, evil and pretty hard to play as. But watching Lothlorien burn while all your goblins dance around heaps of elven corpses, or taking Imladris and having your goblins stage amusing puppetshows with Elronds corpse, PRICELESS!
Or maybe thats just the imagination running wild, but either way its really challenging and worthwile to conquer when you have such poor troops and so many enemies. I personally love playing as them.

Only AI gets a Balrog to defend Moria (like the other garrison scripts)

To the question: Yes I play evil factions. It's not as easy as you would think because the AI will still get huge numbers and when these are even superior in quality you will still need good tactics. Also I like the larger diversity of the enemies, after all you have more enemy factions to choose from.

Anyway, Harad and Mordor are pretty easy, Rhun is in the middle, Isengard has a very tough start but gets easier with the time, OotMM is quite hard (though not so much in late game when trolls are more common and your numbers are large, but that applies to pretty much every lategame I would say).

Personally, I don't play 'orc' factions.
It's just that I prefer skill, quality and sturdiness over superior mass - the large masses of orcs gets me kind of confused.
Ok, we could say the Trolls are nice but.. usually I get frustrated and quit the game so long before I can access them..

Rhûn is awesome though, and of course, Harad is OK too.

As Provideniyam, i don't like orcs, but i play Harad and Rhùn without problems. With Rhùn is hard to kill my beloved Dwarves but, well, it's war.

Anyway I always try to destroy other evil factions as well, hehe. I will never be just Sauron's minion, i'll become his master!

Rhûn I play, Harad doesn't suit my playing style and I prefer a small number of elites to fodder-spam. So I don't play Orc factions.

Actually in RC you get a Balrog at turn 80 but it can't move out of moria.
In vanilla you get it when you build mithril mines after turn 80 and it can do whatever it ing wants.

I always tend to play as the easy High elves, maily due to the fact i like to be middle's earths last hope, in that if i don't aid gondor and the forces of good middle earth will fall. However currently after reinstalling The mod and the game im playing as Isengard. The west shall fall!

I play the good guys, I like the idea of my troops being a (relatively) small number of elites that I try my best to keep alive, fighting against the powers of evil!

It works fine till I start fighting trolls and balrogs...

My first, and forever favorite faction: MORDOR

Watching Mordor's iron fist that is the Olog Hai charge forth in a massive wave and deliver death and carnage in endless abundance, line upon line of heavy, dark iron clad Uruks, roaring and shouting as they slowly descend upon my enemies like a black tide, and the Black Numenorians who sweep across the battlefield like a shadow, lead by the Nazgul, they are as unstoppable as they are terrifying and will be the dark champions to deliver the mortal strike to the enemy in battle as they charge in from the rear.

It's also funny though, that as Mordor, my armies are very often outnumbered, yet I still destroy anyone, even elves with just a few casualties. But then again, my armies consists of Uruks and Olog Hai mostly, meaning I've got some decent quality between rank and file;P

All my legionnaire armies are made out of Uruks and trolls, along with the necessary siege equipment addition as well.
The only place I ever use my swarming Orcs are in provincial defense. If there is a garrison that needs to be defended, I usually just use the cheap Orcs. They don't cost much, and they can stave off almost any attack without problem due to their number combined with the advantage of walls.

I´ve played every faction (exept eriador, 3 or 4 times since 1.1), at least a dozen times to turn 100+
so i think yes, i play evil factions.

Isengard is my all-time favorite, but every faction got its special play-style and i like the variety.
With oomm and mordor its getting a little boring later on, for at some point you just crush everything in your way (same with isengard, but watch uruk-hai marching cant get boring).

I'm trying to play as Harad for once. I've played as Rhun, but I soon just devolved into "Spam Cavalry ASAP", trained some Loke Archers to deal with Field battles against Rohan and Eriador, and for sieges, I got myself a load of Loke Warriors as and when they were needed.

Guess that answers your question. In vanilla I played Isengard once. Quit when I had destroyed the Rohirrim, High Elves and those silly rangers in Eriador, all at the same time.

In DaC I played Mordor a few times, and Harad once. As Harad, I backstabbed Mordor whilst I destroyed Gondor. It was a real challange, but with Haradwait, Gondor and Mordor under my control things got a bit boring.

i play evil factions in every game a lot.
but in TATW i love Rhun.
Harad is good.
Isengard... well i gave them a try and might hop back to the campaign.

and to mordor and ootm... i dont like 3000+ armies consisting of orcs so i dont play them

i usually like factions with a capable roster of elite units like rhun and gondor.
harad is a nice evil faction to play also.

but usually i play rhun or gondor, so i like one evil and one good faction.

Well, no need for an evil faction, i do this everytime when i conquer eriador with the HE.
It is a hard job to get Glorfindels respect on full-feared, but it is possible

Yeah, but I find it more in the character of evil fractions to kill everyone
