Hard?

Hej, i just created my account so this will be my first post.
Unfortunaly a whine/help post hehe.
I have played Normal/Normal for quite a while now and its getting abit easy,
though I can handle a hard battle.
So to raise the bar i have tried a few different campaigns with hard campaign setting.

Its great that the AI is abit smarter (ofc)
But I cant see why I always end up in war with around 7-10 factions after just 7 years in-game
without being "aggressive", this feels very unrealistic and a kinda dumb way so make it "harder".
Every neighbour swarming in my lands, even random factions from the other side of Europe decides to
launch a full-sized invasion, like its every AI vs the lonely player hehe.
Whats your thoughts about this and how should I try to avoid this?

Also I have another question, how can (AI) Spain, France and Britain "Merge" their protectories
without doing the quest?

AI cheats, AI gets it's protectorates automatically.

Try to make alliances early on, and throw some tech into the bargin to help them agree. I play H/H and starting out with certain factions i've found that you do get picked on (with prussia and holland so far) and its pretty tough going to at the start.

Thats why its not called Empire:Occasional War.

It does seem a bit overdone though, although I think it varies by faction. As Britain, I don't seem to get into too many wars (natives, France and Spain are about it really). If you go into alliances you will have more wars as well, as you have to defend your allies.

grant every AI military access, and make "strategic" alliance, and you will see a noticeably reduced invasion :

With the right diplomacy the AI will become so passive you wish you had more enemies. For example, playing as Sweden I found it easy to get the Danes and Russians to like me. After that I was just twiddling my thumbs, sitting around doing nothing. On the other hand playing as Dutch you are definitely going to war with France.

Making too many alliances is actually a bad thing, because your allies will ask for your help a lot and it will drag you into a lot of unnecessary wars. I usually ally with a faction that shares my border, so I don't have to get worried about being invaded from that direction. That way, I can focus on expanding on one front.

He is right. Everybody hated me for "territorial expansion", even my allies! When I asked for help, no one, not even my allies helped me. Then the allies always asked ME for help in their wars on prussia! Why would I want to? I am only GB! Anyway,having many nations fighting with you at once would not be too bad, unless your battles are at VH!!! Its a world in VH battles! Its the world were enemy militia can defeat your GUARDS!!! If you can hold out like other veterans in the game(I am NOT included) I will call you real
