I know i should wait for a detailed Faction Preview but i cant help it.

Can anyone shed some light on England? Basically just 2 things: (im planning to play as them first)

How is Englands government? Are they more prone to rebel or do they seem to have a control over themselves? I mean if theirs a weak king then anything could happen but still.

And lastly,how would you rank their military compared to the rest of the factions especially compared to byzantine because that would be my seocnd pick to play as.

Also in a whole,will their be set wars and alliances? or is everyone neutral?

Someone else will probably be able to give you a more detailed answer but I can say that it will all be as historically accurate as possible. Historically England was quite a powerful nation and this will be represented in the game but in 1080, the Kingdom of England has not existed for long (since 1066) and so initially the player will need to consolidate his/her position in England. Public unrest will likely be relatively high and there will still be pockets of resistance i.e. rebels around the country.

Rank? I don't personally rank anyone's military, they have strengths and weaknesses. Overall, i would probably rather take the side of the English in a battle between England and Scotland of equal numbers, since English armies lend themselves better towards being used as a strategical force with reserves and strong assault knights. Of course it depends on your play style, i prefer to saturate with arrows and defend like the English in Agincourt, but if you were an offensive player with a penchant for unarmoured shock troops and high mobility flanking manoevers, you'd be better of with Scotland. I don't know if that helps.

All alliances and wars will be set from the start to as they were in 1080.

Thanks, it did help. Also im a big fan of archers and if im right,england was big on them, correct..? Cant remember how many times they saved me in battles. Im not sure but im guessing england will have a pretty good archer roster in the game???

However, time is not necessarily on its side, because France has a huge potential even though in 1080 it is weak. England may also run into trouble should a weak king appear because this is the risk of centralized states in DotS (the player can decrease it to some extent) which will motivate the player to decentralize, but this obviously comes at a price. England starts as much more orderly than France for sure, but things can change.

A lot of work is being done on these issues right now. As you may know, 1080 was a very transitional point in Roman history. If you know a lot about the history, you'll know a lot about the starting position of the Roman Empire in 1080, but this isn't really the thread to discuss it in. Feel free to start a new Roman (Byzantine) thread if you like.

Thanks for the answers guys! Man, i cant wait for this mod to come out. I know the leaders get mad when people ask this but when do you think we can see the next preview?-by the way englands campaign map looks great,lol even better then CA's britin campaign that focuses on the dam island hehehe.

New map and unit previews may be within a few weeks (or even days), but it will be a long time before we do any major previews.

Our team is very large so there is always someone working on the mod. As far as do each of us work on it every day? I personally work on it nearly every day, but sometimes I need to take a few days off. Even when I do take time off, I usually end up checking in on our development forum to discuss things at least once a day.

Well if you mean by work as in talk and such then yes definitely... But we all have real lives and families for the most part. Some have more time than others.
