I've been playing the Roma Surrectum mode for a while and it's worked perfectly but all of a sudden I've got a problem that really affects the game play.
As I said it was working perfectly on my laptop, I turned it off and left my laptop for a couple of days (not using the laptop at all in the meantime) and when I came back to it some things that hadn't previously been happening were spoiling the game.
The biggest problem is moving units around the strategy map - they go REALLY slow and jittery. I don't really understand why this has happened because I hadn't changed any settings either in game or to the laptop in general.
Other things that happen are slow opening scrolls (not as bad as moving units), slow end of turn times and jittery music playback, sometimes involving quite noticeable changes in volume and sometimes little bursts of static/white noise.
Other than that the game is working fine. Battles (apart from the music issue) work fine as far as I can see. I've tried lowering the settings but it doesn't seem to have any effect and in any case, as I said before, it had previously worked well at the highest settings on the same laptop.
I also tried completely reinstalling from scratch but no joy.
Any idea why this has happened and if anything can be done about it? The biggest problem is moving units around the map because it almost makes Campaign mode unplayable.
