Bomb Ketches or Rocket Ships?

Just curious which is better to spend my money on; bomb ketches or rocket ships. I've tried bomb ketches, and they seem to be effective against sailors on other ships, and sails. What about rocket ships? They any more effective?

I actually prefer bomb ketches because of the damage they do, sometimes they even seem to knock out a lot of enemy cannons on a direct hit... Rocket ships set enemy vessels on fire, which is great for damaging morale, and also tends to slow down the enemy, as to fight fires effectively you have to have your ships lay anchor and stop firing at will so the crew can try to manage the fire. But I still find bomb ketches to be an overall better value.

To me, it seems to be the question, do you want to capture the ship, or watch it burn/blow up? Bomb ketches are great at disabling a ship, with a slight chance of destroying it. But the rocket ships have a much higher chance of destroying a ship. Quite often for me, I see the sails all go up in flames. I see the deck blazing. And then they surrender. And then the fires continue. And then.... BOOM.
Also, I think rocket ships might get their job done faster then bomb ketches, so if you are fighting vastly superior forces, the rocket ships might be better. At least I am guessing so.

So it all depends on what result you want. I prefer capture.

I generally prefer the prize money from ships. I generally only take 5th rates and highers, except for tradeships.
