Some FOE questions
Hi, I'm a long time player of RTR Platinum and EXRM and I just started playing FOE, which is awesome so far. I've searched the boards but I can't seem to find some resources I'm looking for. For Platinum, there is very detailed campaign maps (see the one on wikipedia e.g.) with all the provinces, territories, and cities outlined--I was wondering if there is a similar detailed campaign map available for FOE (beyond the screenshots and maps with colored blotches in the preview thread).
I was also wondering if there were detailed unit lists, like there is for Platinum.
Also, out of curiosity, what is the longest game of RTR you have ever played? My longest goes until 63A.D. on an old RTR6 Greek game, at which point I got a reoccurring CTD… My games tend to last very (indefinitely) long, as I play a sort of “turtle” game style with house rules, where I will hold a range or provinces (just the traditional Greek city states for instance) as long as possible, and inevitably the AI enemies are down to a few, with one or two major superpowers that control half the map.
It makes for an interesting game where the AI mostly does all the conquest (and I’ve run into some really weird scenarios. Once I played as Carthrage and forced the Numidians to become a protectorate, but I gave them a city on the coast. Sure enough, after a few decades, they launch naval invasions into the Iberian pen. and, with my defense, manage to hold cities there… until a CTD killed this game. And in another game where I played as the Macedonians and simply held the city states, the Greeks managed to fight their way up the Roman peninsula from Sicily, so that by around 150B.C. they had destroyed the Romans, much of the Gauls, and were beginning to fight the Germans in the far north!).
