unbeatable RTW tactic

Hi my friend has an unbeatable tactic. he makes a circle of spartan hoplites in phalanx formation around several units of archers and onagers. I have tried everything but his archers always defeat me and when i use onagers his ones destroy mine. This is so frustrating please help!

noob boxes are not unbeatable or respected.

you could A) put your archers in loose formation so they dont die, since his cant move inside a noob box but yours can,
B) Bring your own phalanx
C) bring lots of horse archers and archers, kill his archers, shoot his phalanx in the back until it becomes almost dead, swamr that unit with infantry and crack the box,
D) just bring cavalry and put several units of throwaway cavalry near his phalanx (far enough to run away) and wait until his onager acidentally blows appart a unit of phalanx and swar that with calvary, and each time a unit turns to fight hit it in the back with other calvary.

But those are just methods i've used (except the horse archer archer one, but just ask for a no rules battle or whatever.) and have worked, im sure there are other ones.

Or just bring some elephants and see where that takes you. It dosent matter if he keeps noob boxing.


You could also do urban cohorts, and send half your pilla at one unit (from the sides) and charge, that would break the box very quickly.

wtf are warlords? They can be either charioteers or heavy cav. I guess you are talking about chariots since headhurlers belong to britannia, but be more specific...the dude just started playing the game.

i know, form your own noob box, but behind a hill so his archersa and arty cant hit until they move. At that point bring out the 15 units of peasents that were hiding and swarm him.

Follow everyone's advice that posted on here, and you won't lose to a pathetic noob box again. It is the easiest tactic (if you can call it that) to defeat.

If you seriously want to annoy a noob boxer

1) Go Rome
2) Buy arcani + 1 peasant as your general
3) dot and hide your arcani all around the map
4) press start
5) go and watch a film or something whilst leaving the game on

1- Go Rome
2- Buy more onagers than your opponent.
3- Buy some archers.
4- Fill the rest of your army with best quality infatry.
5- As game starts, shoot his onagers with rocks (not flaming missles because they are more accurate)
6- After his artilley is destroyed, attack his tightly packed infantry with your artillery.
7- Bombard him with everything try to make attack you and broke formation.
8- if you have archers, put them in loose formation and first shoot his archers they shoot at the backs of phalanxes.
9- Even after all this process he dont moves, carefully look his circle and define weak spots and attack at those points.
10-If his cicle is thin, some cav is also works since they jump over phalanxes and destroys the formation.

My tactic to break this was to build an army of half scythian lancers, half scythian noble archers and let the archers swoop around him and hit his phalanxes in the back. They are so quick they can dodge the onagers and kill a load of the archers when firing too. When he is weak enough smash the lancers into an exposed spot and the finally send in the horse archers (who have run out of ammo by now) into the opposite side.
