Reinstalling RTW Vanilla

Hey, before i start i just want to say great mod! loved it!
After i beat the campaign, i wanted to play vanilla RTW again, and so, i uninstalled RTR and attempted to reinstall RTW. Although it starts up fine, it crashes everytime i start a new campaign/custom battle. I even tried system restore before i reinstalled the game but that did not fix it.
i believe its something with the "replacing the maps", but im not sure.

just remove Rome Total War from your System.
then remove every Rome Total Realism Folder/Maps in your Rome Total War Map (Program Files/Creative Assambly/Rome Total War/)
Remove it all !
and then install Rome Total War again.

If you had of used the RTR Platinum mod switch version, you would have been able to play both vanilla and RTR as it doesn't overwrite any of the original game files.

There`s actually more than a months between the first post and the reply so I`d guess the guy had solved it in the meantime one way or another. The problem is possibly connected to vista because it seems similar to this:
