Outstanding work once again to the Roma Surrectum team . I started playing this mod when it was at 1.1 (or close to) and I like it then apart from the random CTD's xD. But it's come such a long way since then and I eagerly await Roma Surrectum II .

I'd be lying to say I'm not stunned with the preview Everything looks so fantastic, all the legions so believable and real, from their shields and officers down to the textures of their chain mail.
However I was wondering about the omission of scale-armored legionaries? Is it non historical?

I am tone's lover so back off. It's purely superficial though, just so I can get an early copy of RS2.
Most legions were a mish-mash of various types of armour and helmets, since the Romans kept equipment in service until they broke, and then grabbed the nearest replacement. Scale was the least common kind of armour for legionnaires, as far as we can tell. They definitely wore it, especially those serving in the east, but still, chainmail was still very common, even in the late 2nd century AD when the use of lorica segmentata was at its zenith. If memory serves correctly, there's an excellent picture in Adrian Goldsworthy's "The Complete Roman Army" showing Arrian's legionnaires in battle against the Alani in Kappadokia in 135 AD. The legionnaires' are variously shown in mail, segmentata and scale armour, and with variations in helmets too. It's an excellent book and very worth reading. I actually emailed him with some questions about RS, since he worked on Time Commanders so he was familiar with RTW. He was very helpful with regards to equipment and the like.

I am amazed at the attention to detail that's going into this mod! CA should hire you for Rome 2, if that's what they have planned.

Wow, those banners are just amazing. You guys have really outdone yourselves!
Also remember that our Free Greeks, and Free barbarians,
Free Easterners will represent hundreds of different factions, with their own skinning and style.
The team has been very picky about this, and we made sure you will not be fighting drones from Vanilla.
Plus the factions we have now you will not be disappointed!
It's coming guys! Can you feel the steal?
We also wanted the feel, in years of war. With these factions, and units.
We gave plenty of our 0.2 to the molders and skiners.
And they did one excellent job! BTW Tone and team beautiful preview!

Hey Pacco +rep sir! That picture of legion banners is my new desktop background.
Truly this is pure art!
Stunning attention to detail. Kudos to everyone!
Speaking of which..
Love this Xth Gemina shield, I think I painted this one , but all the shields have LEC instead of LEG on them and why does it have studs?
If I'm not mistaken, the g appeared later, and the c was used instead, like in Caius Julius Caesar.

So this is it, then? We're basically in "the next release of any kind from the modders will be RS2 itself" countdown mode, right?
it was worth the wait!
Just one word: Wow! (even if my computer refuses to load the second half of it )
Btw, where's Carthage?
