As the title suggest, why the possibility of existence of God is even important to mankind?? If God does exist, so what??
Because he wants to be worshiped.
If a guy with a gun pointed at your head tells you he loves you and demands love in return should you love him?
Depends on the distance - if it is short enough, I would knock his gun and his head out of physical dimesion.
The problem is even God does exist there is no way to prove the past records between him and mankind is true. Does there any evidence suggest that God does not simply make a story about Garden of Eden so we can be tricked to worship him??
Except he probably does not, since he never says he is meddling your life but just demanding you obey his teachings.
no, thats not love its closer to rapeBecause he wants to be worshiped.
If a guy with a gun pointed at your head tells you he loves you and demands love in return should you love him?![]()
But he's like those weird ghost guys in the matrix, if you try to hit them your hand (or samurai sword) would just pass through him. You can't win because he doesn't exist.
My point exactly.
Compulsory love with the threat of infinite punishment is the most horrific fantasy the human mind can conjure.
Perhaps god's surname is fritzl and you dont have a choice in the matter. if you say no he just ties you up in his basement.
And hell isnt really hell and thats not really satan, It's god in he's gimp suit coming to assrape you in his basement.

hellheaven1987,
Well, the proof of that lies in the Bible being true to its words. In other words does it do to man what it claims and it certainly has from the beginning of time beginning with Abel right down to the millions who have, at the name of Jesus, had their lives totally turned around.
And you know the strangest part of it all is that as men and women continue to be saved the furore amongst them that haven't doesn't diminish, rather the opposite, it rises to a crescendo beyond limits. I mean look to Islam and see what organised opposition really is or look to the systems that call themselves christian and find that almost impossible to believe.
And then there are the Darwiniasts and atheists who abound on these threads ever ready to pounce on anything appertaining to God and you begin to see the depth of what man who hates God will go to. This is the result of the fall of man, it's just that they and perhaps yourself that don't know why them and you are doing it. The Bible tells us why?
It is incredibly arrogant and condescending to make such claims, especially without evidence to support your claim.
It's impossible to hate something that you don't believe in.
The bible claims to validate itself by itself and the experiences of its proponents, it's circular and illogical.
Two words: Prove It.
Doesn't really help that the specific provenance of the Bible's words tends to be a bit muddled, of course.
A cynic might point out that so does cancer. In other words does it do to man what it claims and it certainly has from the beginning of time beginning with Abel right down to the millions who have, at the name of Jesus, had their lives totally turned around.
Uh, Islam's pretty seriously lacking in organisation you know.I mean look to Islam and see what organised opposition really is...
You know the people you're referring to tend to generally employ "Darwinist" as an insult, as in "you Social Darwinist!"...And then there are the Darwiniasts and atheists who abound on these threads ever ready to pounce on anything appertaining to God and you begin to see the depth of what man who hates God will go to.
Oh, why then ?This is the result of the fall of man, it's just that they and perhaps yourself that don't know why them and you are doing it. The Bible tells us why?
It'd be important so long as the god(s) were not a kind of Deist god. If the god(s) are interested in us, then it'd be pretty important to know.
Doesn't seem likely, though.

hellheaven1987,
The importance lies in what was shown to us as being what life should have been like but isn't, the garden of Eden as opposed to our fallen situation, and where we go when our short life on this planet ends. Here lies where and why God is so important, because it is your personal relationship with Him that decides that future.
If some all-powerful guy is meddling with my life, I'd like to know.
As long as there are people in the world who feel that God does exist and base their action's (good or bad) on the hypothetical teachings of said God, then yes it is incredibly important as i inhabit that world with them and thus there actions (in)directly affect me.
"You have a decent ear for notes
but you can't yet appreciate harmony."
Because mankind (myself included) seeks a purpose in life, and the possible existence of God provides a purpose for our existance (hypothetically).
"I pray Heaven to bestow the best of blessings on this house and all that shall hereafter inhabit it. May none but honest and wise men ever rule under this roof."
- John Adams, on the White House, in a letter to Abigail Adams (2 November 1800)
God doesn't punish people for not worshiping him, he's telling you to pray because not doing so would be a loss for YOU! For example, say your buddy has a weird looking wound that looks oddly infected. You tell him to seek the doctors because you are concerned about his health, he refuses. Are the doctors going to sneak into your friend's house and murder him for not seeking their consult? No... but he will probably die anyways because he decided to be clever and refuse treatment for his infected wound...
Because if a genuine individual entity like God does exist, it more or less proves the existence of an afterlife, and he could be mankind's guide to that afterlife.
Im a skeptic, but if he was proven to exist I would gladly spend this blink of life worshiping him for a chance to move up to higher stages in life.
