    Default Question after installing

After I install the Mod (on a clean 1.5 version and not into the data file, but the Total War folder itself) the shortcut comes to my desktop, but when I click on it theres nothing to it...it just takes me to a Windows Art screen with the picture of the desktop as a small picture. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

I tried to upload the picture but it wouldnt work. Its just the Roma Surrectum icon that comes onto your desktop after you download and install the mod... but you cant access the actual game from the icon, its just empty it seems and it takes me to the "Windows Photo Gallery" with the mod icon picture there.

Alright, I got the mod up and running, it was in "The Creative Assembly" the .exe file. Sorry for the inconvenience. I read the readme file thats in all the original settlements and it suggested turning off autosave in the preferences file to avoid crashing. I'm assuming its done by opening the preferences folder and simply typing "False" next to the auto save line, but when I go to save this it says.

    Cannot create the C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome-Total War\preferences\preferences.txt\file
Make sure the path and file name are correct.

    What does this mean?

It means the file is likely marked as read-only. Right click on the file and select properties and uncheck the read-only box, then make your changes and save.

The box in properties was already unchecked as a read-only file.

Really sorry for all this, it seems so minor yet is driving me nuts.
