    Default Epirot Problem

    Hi all,

I'm trying to kick the Epirots out of Italy but whenever i start a battle I get this error................ "unable to find file model_data/sor_hellenistic_general.cas" or something like that. I'm running XP pro sp3, RS 1.6a.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

I need to items from you, first the exact error message (a screenshot of it will do) and a list of which units are in the battle on the epirot side.

EDIT: Just to verify, this is for an unmodded 1.6a correct?

Thanks, I'll get that info for you.

Yes, it is 1.6a unmodded. The same error occurred today when I attacked Syracuse, it seems to be a problem whenever a Greek based general of family member is in the battle.

That's an idea, I never use auto resolve as I prefer to fight my own battles, but I'll try that if I know my army is bigger & better than the enemy.

Sorry, I got it wrong. Here's the exact error message...........

"Script error in data/descr_model_battle.txt, at lin 556, column 24"
"Model database failed to load model data/models_unit/sor_hellenistic_general.cas"

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks for your help.

Are you sure it was line 556 and not 566? Looking at my unmodded 1.6a there's no reason for that error, and I can fight battles with epiros (both attacker and defender) against epirot family with no crash. Check in the named location to see if the file's there but I think something happened when you installed the mod, because the file should be there. Try re-installing 1.6 and then 1.6a again and then check to make sure the file actually installed in data/models_unit.

I may have got it wrong, it could have been 566. Anyway, I'll copy my latest save to another file, reinstall 1.6 & 1.6a, then restore the save & see what happens.

    Thanks for your help, Squid!

Before I try the reinstall, here's what it says on line 566......... "model_flexi data/models_unit/SoR_Hellenistic_General.cas, 15"

Also, in "data/models_unit" there's no mention of a "Hellenistic General" but there is a "Shared_Hellenic_General.cas"

    Any clues?

Sounds like a bad install, because it is actually included in the installer.
