Flags on the Ground?

I'm playing as the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Austrians have sallied forth from their fort at Vienna. On the ground next to my position is this:











There are also a couple spots covered by a mess of colored pixels, one under my cavalry and one below the American flag.



Some of these flags are of nations that have not yet appeared, and some are of nations that are now destroyed. They seem to stretch all across the left side of the battlefield and off into the distance. I haven't begun the battle yet, so I don't know if they'll all just disappear or if they's continue to show up. What's going on? Will this problem continue to happen?
