Default General with 0 moving points

I put a general on a ship to transport him from Italy to Iberia. Since he was Languorous, he had few moving points but I used the ships extra moving points to move him faster. Only by the time I brought him to his destination, he had On his deathbed, Exhausted, and Winter campaigning restricted traits. So now I can't move him from ship to city so he could rest. I put the ship in port and disbanded them, hoping he would be forced to step on dry land. Now he's kneeling in the middle of my port, still unable to move.

Will this general recover by resting in the port instead of a city? If not, is there any other way to move him (a console command or something) into a nearby city?

He can't rest in the port. He could have rested in a fort, but since he is stuck at a port you can't build one... i believe you can't move him directly into a city with the console, but if you want to try write:

    move_character "Name Lastname" x, y

to find out what x and y should be write:

    show_cursorstat

Option number 2 would be to remove on his deathbed trait by writing:

    give_trait "Name Lastname" PoorHealth 0

    good luck

Check names.txt for the exact name. Roman naming system is different to most others. Don't teleport him on a city, this will bug your game.

If I understand correctly by looking into names.txt, the bracketted {name} is the name the game uses to identify the characters while the unbracketted names are what the player actually sees ingame. Correct?

    Hm. I'm confused.

My general's name is Nvmerivs Cornelivs Blasio. I found a whole list of names that begin with Nvmerivs but Cornelivs doesn't follow any of them. I found two names that begin with Cornelivs but they are followed my something else. I used the 'find' function and tried looking manually. No joy.

Maybe the game made this name up on its own...

Well, the next turn winter will be over so you might be able to move him into a city.

Nvmerivs Cornelivs Blasio goes to Nvmerivs Romanvs, although you will have more than one Numerivs. The possible names are NvmerivsA....NvmerivsK. Identify the correct FM using character_reset, other cheats may cause havoc in your game.

I tried with give_trait "Nvmerivs Romanvs" PoorHealth 0. It didn't remove the On his deathbed trait.

I tried with give_trait "NvmerivsA Romanvs" PoorHealth 0 and give_trait "NvmerivsK Romanvs" PoorHealth 0 and it said the character was not found. So either I got the right man and the console command didn't work or there is another with that name and I tweaked that one.

    Any suggestions?

wow, you have really bad luck! I have tested PoorHealth 0 myself and it works so it is probaly as you said someone else named that... seems like your only option is to move him next to a city and wait for summer

It's winter of next year. He's been sitting there for almost two years. I tried moving him every season. No joy.

So even when the winter effect is away he can't move? Is he still exhausted? If he is, just wait some more turns and he will be rested again ( i think ) It could be that since you can't move him the game think you used up all your movementpoints and he will not ever get restedHopefully one of the developers will see this and be able to help you...

    This is the solution.

And this is step by step:

    Backup your save-game.
Check your family tree and your agents if you have more than one Nvmerivs.

If no, open the console, move your mouse to the wished location (where you want to put him) and type 'show_cursorstat'. Note the result (XXX,YYY). Type into the console 'move_character "Nvmerivs Romanvs" XXX,YYY' If that doesn't work add to the first name an 'A', then next a 'B', until 'K'. And yes if it doesn't work at the beginning you will have to try all.

If you have more than just one Nvmerivs you will have to identify him before moving. Type into the console 'character_reset "Nvmerivs Romanvs" '. This will reset one of your Nvmerii. Try this with NvmerivsA till NvmerivsK. So you will have the right Nvmerivs to move. Proceed as above mentioned.

Who ever moded that beeing lame, is lame excuse for -40% movement. For God sake, generals were not walking around on foot. Considering this, Timur (the lame) was couch potato?

Bad family member....live him in the developed city with good governor, so during time he would gain some positive traits - trader, musician, singer (if there is theatre in city), which will impove his public order and governing abilities...and after a while you can send him to govern a city

I have a diplomat with an identical name: Nvmerivs Cornelivs Blasio, age 57. When I tried the character_reset command on "Nvmerivs Romanvs", it was the diplomat whose move points were reset.

    I tried this with all letters from NvmerivsA to NvmerivsK (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K). No characters were found under these names.

In addition to the afflicted Nvmerivs Cornelivs Blasio, age 45, I have three family members with the name Nvmerivs:
    Nvmerivs Aemilivs Pavllvs, age 45
    Nvmerivs Ivlivs Mento, age 39
    Nvmerivs, age 4

It's not really a major issue, but i also find it dumb that traits regarding the general only, poor health, tired etc affect the entire armies movement points. Only ones who should matter is winter/summer campaigning and tired troops, also if the general has a great logistician or scout.

Hmmm, difficult to say what is wrong from here. Can you upload a save-game so I can give it a try at my build? If you upload the file please don't forget to tell on which exe you are running and if you have sub-mods installed. How (and why) to post a SaveGame

Well, I made my lazy general to move on his own. Just a single square but enough that he's not standing on water anymore. Another move and I can maybe build a fort for him.
