CTD while loading any campaign...

I can start a campaign, save it, continue playing later, and save it again, but once I save that campaign a second time, the game CTD's whenever I try to load that campaign again.

I did force-shutdown my PC frequently in the past few days. That's probably it. Or it could be the fact that my PC is seven years old. But it has no problem running Sid Meier's Pirates!, Mount & Blade, or Star Wars Battlefront (1 and 2).

There seems to be a problem with your installation, check first if RTW alone has the same problem. If yes install everything new. If no, run valiadtion.bat found in the RTW folder and post the results here.
There are rare reports of RTW corrupting saves, but this is a very rare problem and should not be there any time.

Since the computer I installed RTW and EB on is on the third floor of my house and out of range of my internet router, the validate.bat file won't run properly. What would happen, if I transferred the .bat onto another computer with internet access so I could download the list (and does it have to be a Windows computer)?

Any computer that can handle Java should be able to run the validation. IIRC the list with the checksums is stored locally, so no need to download a list.

Did you check if the problem occurs also in vanilla RTW?

Yes, and as far as I can tell, vanilla works fine. Time for me to reinstall EB?

I actually ran into this problem the first time around. Several files in the "...\EB\Data\world\maps\battle\custom\..." folder are unable to have a directory created for them. The message reads:

An error occurred while trying to create a file in the destination directory:
Setup was unable to create the directory "C:\SANGO-Total War\EB\Data\world\maps\battle\custom\...".
Error 123: (some stuff in Mandarin)

What should I do?

Edit 1: This happened when using the EB 1.1 and the EB 1.2 installer.
Edit 2: reinstalling apparently worked...
