Hey everyone.
I'm pretty deep into a campaign with Armenia, and I've gotta say, it's a solid faction. For as long as a I can remember I've been focused on (and enjoying) campaigning as either Macedon, Rome, or Greece. I wanted to turn my attention to perhaps a less prestigious and attention gathering faction, and I'm impressed! Armenia of course offers a variety of "missile based" units, which certainly have their place in harassing and even dismantling enemy formations, but the "Eastern heavy infantry" hold their own on the battlefield, and have quickly become a favorite of mine. They can form a phalanx, which is priceless, and having a melée value just under 40 makes them contenders against any unit. The "standard" infantry are far less capable, but they still hold out longer than I expected. The cataphract cavalry are awesome, and can break through armored units that typical un-armored units struggle with. geographically the faction initially lies north of the Seleucid empire and west of the parthians. Sea trade Is non-existent in the early game, as there are no large bodies of water close by. A favorite mercenary unit of mine in these parts are the "Syrian archers." Lots of stopping power, and plenty of range. A great unit.
Anyway, just wanted to bring the faction to light, and recommend it others that have yet to campaign with them.
