Will there be an RS3?

I dont think there will be an RS3, after all RS2 is basically going to perfectionize the rome total war engine (yes i am aware that that is probably not a word), so they will have done all they can on this engine and i doubt medieval would add much to it. That is why i dont think there will be RS3.

Too early for that. Besides, even if the team decided to make RS3 on the M2TW platform, it will take a few years to get the project done.

If I were a RS developer these kinds of questions would anger me to no end, even more than the "release date" ones.

No we are going to skip RS 3 and go straight to RS 4. Everyone know that 4>3 and that means that RS 4 would be better than RS 3.

So much time and work from all team members.
There is so much detail i cant begin to explain.
From what DVK, and Tone has done being the Maine hub of it all.
With all others adding their expertise in it.
From design and modeling, then stats, balance, unit descriptions.
Map design. Artwork, shields, flags, destroying all vanilla ideas to RS perfection.
A big project in it's self.
Then the building city icons, city building trees, all changed.
Then beautiful units of all types. Being pain sticking and time consuming detail!
To the most valuable historical information on all factions that could be searched, studied and investigated.
Then the battle map!! Well for the first few minutes you will struck with the ooos and ahhhs.
Before starting the bottom to start the battle.
Will there be a RS3? Most likely not.
DVK has gathered a great team of artist, modders, skinners, and historians, writers, and testers than any mod ever!
I been while RS2 for i think over 2 years now.
And it's been an education seeing this come together.
While we work, play, be with family and wives.
It's more than a miracle.
Plus working together.
When something needed to get done it got done.
Not to forget a whole team of Beta testers.
Yes RS2 is the best Roman, barbarian, and Greek mod that you will ever play at this time period.

Mate, that's not really the sort of thing I want to hear from a team member. As someone else said best is subjective, we each have things that we enjoy about a mod and things we don't like, and there will be plenty of things to not like about RS2. One of the things we don't want to be doing is comparisons with other mods that have gone about things in in different ways, but have many things in them that are better implemented than RS2.

So please, no more of that.

Best is always subjective.
But what i can say is that rs will be a great mod.

If we're doing another one, let's go back to the roots, because with number higher than 2 there is a sens of déjà vu. Let's do rs 0!

RS3 is impossible for RTW at least, they are pushing it to its limits, any more and the awesomeness would break the game.

What about that graphics overhaul dvk had mentioned awhile ago? About some fellow creating a program that updated old graphics with new rendering? Will that ever be implemented in future RS releases or is that to far away to say as well?
