dark and funny. the camera work was great. good acting (even from Nic Cage). fabulous soundtrack.

Will see it today.
Not bad, a little overhyped if you ask me. Tbh, i hate superhero movies with a passion, so it was infinitely better than i was expecting.
I had 2 main problems.
1. I was expecting it to be a comedy, but the sheer volume of gore and violence (towards children sometimes) rather spoiled the few but hilarious one-liners. I'd prefer tbh that they made their minds up - action or black comedy. You can't have both.
2. The beginning was far far too long. The introduction, before the encounter with BD and HG, must have been about a quarter of the entire film. As usual, all of the good bits were in the adverts so, with the somewhat braindead plot being about as linear as is physically possible, there was no surprising 'wow' or 'ROFL' moment at all for me anyway.
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.
A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

One thing is for certain: the more profoundly baffled you have been in your life, the more open your mind becomes to new ideas.

Let's think the unthinkable, let's do the undoable. Let us prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff it after all.

Watched it, love it.

—Sir William Francis Butler
I did not think Hollywood had the guts to cast a child doing the things HG did in that movie....I hate child actors...but I love hitgirl in this movie.
Cudos to you Kick ass....best movie of this year so far.
Damn, I was gonna go see it today, but it got sold out.
Sounds good by how you guys are putting it. I was expecting a overhyped piece ofmovie such as "meet the spartans", but this one actually sounds pretty good.
Yay finally somebody make a thread about it.
This movie does indeed kick ass, it got that perfect combination of violence, action and good old comedy all blend together.
It won't disappoint and the nicholas cage/hit girl daddy daughter duo are just totally bad ass. They get my most awesome dysfunctional family award.
I didn't so much mind the swearing and violence from the 12 year old girl, but i thought the last bit where it was directed towards her was too much. If i want to see children being stamped on i will go to Sierra Leone, not a 'comedy' film.

I don't think it was meant to be an out and out comedy film though.

There was one scene that freaked me out:Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Knowledge is a deadly friend, if no one sets the rules. The fate of all mankind I see, is in the hands of fools - King Crimson's Epitaph.

Good acting by Cage? Gonna watch the movie, because it's really hard to believe that...

Apparently Hitgirl did many of her own stunts too.
Awesome movie!
Makes you wonder tough:
why doesn't someone suit up and start killing douchebags? Brussels could use some vigilantes for instance
10 years younger, and a healthy body, and I probably would have bought me a suit and a gun, especially after watching this and watchmen
