    Default carthage h/h BI

rev. 1382, 2h30min playtime so far.
Mainly bug search and ai-behavior, so not much of a "serious" campaign.
Besides conquering sicily (which i left to greece later on), I focused on defending carthago nova which wasnt easy. Rome attacked fairly quick and after fighting them off i had a little arms race with the iberians.
Rome expanded North rather quickly, was pushed back however.
Averni are now the dominant force in europe and rome doesnt look too well.
Got a ctd, will look into that later

Thanks for the input about the map. Sounds like we need to change back to beaches around many coasts, but I'll change the textures on the campaign map.

BTW, how do people feel about the strat map? Any changes needed on textures?

Oh, and is that too many stacks or just right?

Iberians are at peace with rome and the averni, so they completely focus on me.
Stacks are about right for h/h i guess

Here´s a pic of carthago, sweet aint it
Wonder how much the population can grow

Its awfully... In EmpireTW such situation was a nightmare forerun freeze game ...This shows the imbalance of economy and military systems of the game ...(imho)

In ETW I once saw in Bohemia about 36 stacks of the Prussian and then the game froze for ever. Horrific memories)

Putting aside the emotions (of course that if I like EB where the troops were not enough, then the lot of stacks is not like my) - we could say that all the stacks that can not simultaneously take part in the battle - are irrelevant. A lot of nothing decisive battles tired player and unhistorical.

I know that in the SPQR and RS1.6 had a lot of troops and battles - but the 23 stack is too much! That means - too much money and troops are cheap once they can recruit so much. This is the imbalance (imho)

Yeah, actually that is rather too many stacks, I would say.
I think I probably need to increase upkeep marginally.

and if we do do that it'll tighten Rome's starting game as they start with a load of armies and have to fight war on a number of different fronts.

The main reason is that carthago nova was, at this point, the only possible target for them since they are at peace with rome and averni. I fear if you weaken them they´d get crushed by carthage (not me, ai-carthage^^) but we´ll see

That is an issue we have to watch out for. The particular diplomatic stanch of factions will determine where they send all their armies. It would be different if they were at war with Rome and the Arverni, because many of those stacks would diverted to the north. I guess what slightly troubles me is that Rome is getting swamped by the Arverni. Something to watch closely.

Well if you count the Iberians only got about 10 stacks in total in that picture and Carthage less than 5 1/2.

Rome is fighting back big time, Iberians are on the offensive again.
The macedonians are still invading italy via land.
Btw, I cant get back ingame after alt-tabbing. Stays black with occasional white flashes. Anyone got the same prob?

Just so you know I added Tarentum to Macedon Victory conditions so they should invade italy.
It's great to see that they actually do it.

Couldnt they use ships? They never do, in none of my campaigns

    update:
Factions are doing quite well, only thing than bugs me is the lack of war between rome and iberians.
I think im gonna attack some roman legions next, see how that goes

That should only be for the Rome campaign I think, not the other campaigns. They've got their work cut out as it is fending off Carthage, Arverni, Boii and Dacians.

Rome has some pretty effective emergency scripting though for the post Marian times, with recruitment of Praetorian legions and various others given priority to recruit back in Italy.

I haven't seen Macedon but allot of other factions do it and that running RTW, BI and Alex.

However I saw that my changes Macedon's condition had been changed back (strangely) to the old ones (those was extremely old and not good at all).
I have now updated them in all folders and also fixed so that Macedon shouldn't go for Italy other than in the play test and rome folder.
