Had a clean install of RTW 1.5. Then added BI and the 1.6 patch. On top of this installed Roma Surrectum and the patch. Did this twice with the same result, but at least 2nd time made a back-up directory. And the result was similar to the above, getting a 'Please select an option from the list', but when I exit I get this displayed too(see attached pic).
Any ideas? I so want to try this mod. Am a fan of RTR but thought I'd try this.

Did you patch in 1.3 before patching in 1.5?

You aren't properly patching RTW/BI to 1.6. Follow the instruction in the download thread and check the version before installing any part of RS to make sure you have the right version.

No Paedric I didn't do 1.3 first as I checked my version as 1.5 and the instructions clearly say 1.3 is not needed in this case.
[eg:-
1. Install of Rome Total War
2. (Optional) Install Barbarian Invasions
3. Check your version of RTW by running Rome Total War (not BI if installed) and looking in the top right of the Options menu
4. If your version is NOT 1.5, patch to 1.5 (or 1.6 if you installed BI)
NOTE: If the version you see is 1.0, 1.1, or 1.2 this will require you to install patch 1.3 first
5. (Optional) Install Alexander
6. Install Roma Surrectum 1.6.exe into your ‘RTW’ folder with the exe(s) (NOT THE DATA FOLDER)
7. Roma Surrectum 1.6a.exe (Patch for 1.6 Full Install)]

But I will try with 1.3 after installing BI will let you know. Thanks for replying guys.

The instructions say this:

Note that they clearly state that if you have ANY version other than 1.5\1.6(BI), install patch 1.3 first.

So the correct way to patch RTW if you have any version older than v1.5\1.6 is to install patch 1.3 (which is necessary), and then 1.5.
No other patches are necessary.

Therefore, as I have 1.5, I did it correctly the first two times apart from adding the Roma Surrectum patch 1.6a, which by what you have written is unnecessary?

The 1.5 patch does not contain the changes made in the 1.3 patch.
So basically there is written 1.5, and you have the factionnality added in the 1.5, but you don't have things from the 1.3 patch, so the mod is not working.

Ok. I got it working with just RTW, no patches and Roma on top so I am a happy bunny now but will try with BI again later and remember to put 1.3 before 1.5 on but suspect that wont work, thanks Paedric
Must edit autosaves and other stuff now so I get no CTD
