Rome Saves missing!

I was playing my game, all well and good, saving it on a few separate files - I turned it off after a while having saved it... but when I returned it had not kept my last saves and took me back a few turns (even the autosave did this) Anyone know what happened.

This also happened to me a few years ago with the game as well...

Ive not had that exact problem, but I`ve recently gotten back into play RTW and have found that if i look under saved files in the programme files, all of my recent games are not on the list, only my old games from last year. If you saved the game, then straight away quit, the game should have returned to that last point.

Do you have Vista? If so you'll find it in C:/Users/*your username*/appdata/local/virtualstore/program files/activision/rome - total war/saves

It should have - but all the save files now left are a few years behind. Even the autosave. It's quite annoying as I'd just taken North Africa for the Scipio cause! It has no recollection of the other saves I made on separate files. Oh well, I guess I could start again... but still, all that work and to have to worry about the saves doing this again!!! Damn it!

Thats possible indeed, the AppData map is hidden, so you have to type it in the path behind your username. Then you'll get access to the following maps.

got them, thanks for that. Is there any way that i can get these saves to open normal instead of going through that pathway every time?

Well you could copy it to another map but why should you? If rome crashes and you have to uninstall rome and think your saved games are gone, they aren't! They will always be stored in the Program Files of the virtual store, but if you really want to see those files in the program files map instead of using that path, you should install it on another drive.

just lost my saves tonight too. lets see, what did i do...bought a few games in the steam xmas sale..... upgraded itunes...... nah, cant think of nothing else. ALl my saves were gone. BUt i was steamrolling anyway....although i was looking forward to actually completing the main campaign for the first time. Never in mylife have i taken rome and gotten whatever cutscene you get for winning the long campaigh. oh well.
