Marian reforms before carthage is destroyed

ok so its 161BC I have italy the iberian penisula and just took tingi and palma (carthago is in rebel hands) and the marian reforms took place and i can build reuplican legions and in messana where i have an imperial legionary barracks i can build imperial legions.....i was pretty sure this couldnt happen! what went wrong??

ok not destroyed carthage but i meant havent taken all the original cities yet

Well if Cartago is down, and you had 95% of cartaginian empire, it's seem ok to me, maybe a litle extrange, but still ok...

yes but the strange thing is i didnt have 95% of the carthage empire only about half and i made a republican legion but it CTD'd when i went to battle!!

The guidelines for the reforms is a guideline, they are not 100% accurate. Apparently you've found a hole in the official criteria

Furthermore, there are 3 kinds of legionnaires.
Polybian (Hastati, Principe, Triarii etc)
Late Republican (Republican Legionnaires and auxillia)
Imperial (Imperial Legionnaires and auxillia)

You start with the polybian troops and then get the Marian reforms to build late republican troops. To be able to build the imperial troops, all you need to do is build the imperial barracks. So there is not an actual second reform to get them, all the differs is the building. If you want to play with late republican troops longer, simply don't build the imperial barracks!

ok so just took make sure i took all carthage settlements but the game still CTD's when i use the legionaires even though i should be able to because i have filled all the criteria...

Thats weird. It should not do that. CTD while using the troops?
Try custom battle with similar troops and tell us if it happens again. If so, your best bet is to first uninstall delete reinstall the mod as per se my sig, then try again. If problem persists, we will look onto it.

Also, upload us your savegame and provide us with more info so we can best tell what to do in your situation

I've played custom battles with both imperial and republican legionaires and it works fine i think its the freak early marius reforms that might have done it, im loathe to start a new campaign but it might be the case!!

Im uplaoding the save is the year after the marius reforms took place
