Cd key problem...

I just bought the game (Rome Total War Gold Edition) through on demand download and I got 1 x 5x5 digit key, install worked perfectly I get RTW and BI installed, but can't play online since I get the Invalid CD Key error, I tried manually updating it in the registry, which only lists a cd key for RTW, and its correct, so should work...But it doesn't
Any ideas?

The cd key for BI is the same one as RTW. That just unlocked it so you can download the game. Now, to play online with the odds your key is already udes on Gamespy, you have contact whoever you downloaded it from to see about a new one, Sega support since they now own the game for a new one, or try to convince Gamepy support you actually own that key, or all three.

Ok, tried mailing the site I bought it from, SEGA and Ztorm which managed my download a few days back, still no reply from either of them...
This sucks wanted to play online so badly before but now I lost the spark for it, ah well hope it gets sorted soon, love the game in singleplayer but got 0 multiplayer matches done
