[Decision] Ban Stupidity in the Mudpit

The Curia recognizes that the Mudpit is rampant with gut-wrenching, ball-stabbing stupidity. This decision shall create a panel called the Board of Awesomeness to whom citizens may refer particularly stupid posts from the Mudpit. The panel shall be tasked with arbitrarily deciding whether these posts possess a tiny redeemable shred of intelligence; if found lacking, repeat offenders shall be forever banned from the Mudpit and dragged across the streets from the backs of chariots during Triumphs.

I think that would have been a better proposal to be honest. Why limit it just to the Mudpit? Stupidity is rife throughout TWC. We must declare war on it, and destroy it until nought of it is left. Only then will we be able to sleep safely in our beds knowing the world is a better place.

Stupidity, as you say it, can easily be countered with proof and proper debate.
If you wish to ban "Stupidity" from the mudpit; Such an action shall shatter every member's freedom of speech, which this site never minded up until now.

Debating with people who repeat themselves consistently and bring up dumb claims isn't something I'm a stranger to, bear in mind I live in Israel - And without bringing politics into this; I'll just say that some arguments aren't as solid as others - But I also learned to deal with it rather than run to the Curia and try to ban people's freedom of speech.

Everyone's allowed to express themselves, whether they're stupid or smart.

Not to mention the head-ache this will give the whole moderation team.

Not really. Curse words are censored, insulting people is prohibited and you can't talk about certain topics. That's not really freedom of speech.

You know exactly what I mean. People here aren't being banned for Holocaust denial, they aren't being banned for any ideology nor thought and so on.

And, to remind you, nations have prohibitions on freedom of speech as well. They will not allow you to speech about things that may harm the government or the country itself - And here you're not allowed to insult other people or curse. I don't see much damage in that, it only helped actually.

I'm not saying that insulting people and that is good, but it's not free speech. So how can you get rid of free speech if it's not even there? And here in the UK you can speak negatively about the government, this isn't a dictatorship (yet ).

I'd support something akin to this, but i'd want to see something more detailed. There are a lot of spammy, troll-y people in the Mudpit, but there need to be detailed guidelines of what this panel would actually enforce, as someone may have a stupid opinion (to the majority anyway) but actually not make stupid posts. That, and i'd want to also see an attempt to actually try to guide these people into making sensible posts before just slapping around a big banhammer.
