    Default The One Ring Confusion

    Hey,

Just a quick question answer if you please.

Playing the Silvan Elves last night I took Moria and Goblin Town successfully. Just now I took the fort in between which was commanded by a leader who had the One Ring and Gollum in his entourage.

On killing him I assumed I would get the One Ring which I did not, so errr where has it gone...?

in Fourth Age Total War for RTW when you kill enemies you can get their kit, ergo kill saruman you get the key to orthanc and so on, but its not the same in TATW right?

so what hapens to the ring?

You should have a certain chance of obtaining it, but otherwise it would be lost and may be picked up by a general after a while.

If you kill their general who has the ring with an army with a general in it the ring appears in that generals retinue, if you kill him with an army commanded with a captain I don't know what happens, try looking for it on all your generals

Wrong. If you kill the ringbearer the ring gets transferred back to the Misty Mountains. Your generals can find it there when they stay there for a few turns.

It ought to pop up sometime or other, but don't expect it to be a turning point in the campaign. If you want the ring to play a greater role, you should install Nirnaeth Arnoediad's mod "The One Ring" in the submods section.

ah. Didn't know that, prob. because I killed the ring bearer in goblin town so what I said happened to me when I killed him, thanks

matilda - what Seleukos said should explain what has happened and what you can do about it

If he already has the max number of ancillaries, he can't get it unless you remove some of them. If you put another general in the same region, he will eventually find it.

Oh, the truth is just that Seleukos told you.

In TATW until now, the scripts allowing your victorious general to take the ring on a dead ennemy is not working. But recently a modder has fund the way to correct this code, thanks to him. So in the coming 1.5 version of TATW, this feature will be corrected.

I guess a good explanation in this case would be that Gollum takes the ring from the dead General, and scampers back to the Misty Mountains to await a tricksy Hobbit.

    yer i got it thanks

can you also fix the script so we can take other anciliary items from dead enemies like in fourth age total war.

ergo example being i kill saruman like i did 5 minutes ago and you can take the key to orthanc, his staff and so on...
