I was wondering if its possible to add more walls without upgrading your city/castle .It would be fun to be able to add more walls by paying for them example 1500 florins new sets of walls 500 florins for a moat . This way you can have more exciting sieges and protect your settlements better

I'm looking whether this is possible to do so myself. However, I think not - descr_cultures lays out settlement level, and each settlement has a particular battle map associated with it. I'm wondering myself if it's possible to add more settlement levels, or whether that's hardcoded.

Unlike in RTW the settlement level and walls are linked together, so upgrading the settlement automatically upgrades the walls. Though you can upgrade the siege towers without upgrading the walls.

I haven't tried adding more settlement levels but it may be hardcoded. You'd need to edit several files to do this.
