    Default Problems with the Launcher

    Hey guys,

Having installed a clean version of M2TW and Kingdoms, I've downloaded and installed Vespers 3.3 and the hotfixes.
I double click on the shortcut, type "H" into the launcher to play the High Era campain, select "High Era Campaign" from the custom campaign menu, select England as the faction I want to play as, only to find I'm controlling the Saxons (grey and yellow colours). My king is "Cynge John" and I can only recruit/build what look like Dark Age units and buildings such as huscarls and theigns (having not played the Dark Age campaign, I don't know for sure). However, the units in my cities appear to look correct for the High Era (English heraldry and names etc.).

    What have I done wrong?

    Many thanks for your help

Also, when I type in a letter, I get an "access denied" message about ten times before the game loads itself.

I seem to have it the other way around. I WANT to play starting in a Dark Age campaign but when loaded the campaign starts in 1311AD, and the English empire is very expansive. Yet strangely it's still called the Saxon Kingdom of England and with the Saxon grey and gold.

It looks like you are playing the Late campaign (Grand Campaign on menu). To start the other eras, you need to go to the Custom Campaigns menu. They are all listed there.

Note: The option you pick in the launcher, must match the campaign you pick in-game.

As I said, I selected "h" on the launcher menu and then High Era from the custom campaign menu. The game starts in 1212 AD, with England as the grey and yellow Saxons, but with troops featuring High English heraldry. The only buildings and units that can be recruited are those from the Dark Ages.

    What's the problem?

Are all the files being copied successfully, after selecting the "h"? (ie. seeing any access denied?)

If not, you need to make sure you have admin rights on your PC.

I do get a message saying "access denied", but I am an administrator on my computer. I'm running Windows 7, so should I click "run as administrator" rather than simply double-clicking the desktop shortcut?

Run as administrator. Then select the area. It won't be "access denied" then.

You will have to do this every time to you launch the game. Best of luck.

I'm not familiar with 7, but the mod will not work properly, if you are unable to copy/replace the files.

I would try to "run as", and see how it goes. Please let me know how you make out.
