Default When Will Those Gauls Learn?

I appologize in advance, I just wanted to share this story. It has no beneficial information. LOL

I have my faction leader(age 40ish), who happens to be my second best commander, with my I or II Legion (I forget). I have him standing 1 Square from the bridge on the northwestern part of Italy, The only path to the west that leads to central europe, I forget the name sorry.

The Gauls contunue to send massive armies to try and break my blockade. They have sent as many as 4000 men, against my 1900. Obviously the Gauls are weak morally, and are scared by a decent cavalry force. but Iv'e fought on the same map for 3 battles now. so given the chance, I'm now perfecting my strategy, and it decimates any armies. My main Battle line hasn't even been touched half the time. The suprise missle attack followed later by a suprise cavalry charge, they route.

This could be a seriously problem with reduced morale...

Good point. I think a lot of IRL armies would've collapsed in the face of a flank charge like that, but gameplay-wise it might not be much fun.

Suppose it's something we can't do anything about. If people like to fight the same battle over and over again then fair play to them. Hopefully though, increased unit cost should mean fewer armies and so less of this happening.

Not really, increased unit costs make you less likely to throw units away and thus leading every battle yourself instead of knocking on the occasional automatic combat. But indeed this is something that can't be fixed, the other reasons for keeping high unit costs weight heavier, I think.

nice pics by the way! that must award you a lot of heroic victories (and some tribute-peace after them?)

True, but I meant you would have to be more reactive in your defence thus you'll need to move your armies around more to deal with immediate threats because you won't be able to recruit so many troops as easily.
