so i've this crappy laptop, it's my personal pc since for my parents i don't need a good pc for gaming and this one fits perfectly (hell yeah!!) *cries* :

anyway, from the factory it has vista installed.. and we all know it's very memory consumer, so shall i update it to win7 or not really?

my pc performance has much to desire, apart from being a tad slow for today's standards it just sucks at pretty much everything (though im still lucky to be able to play a few games i love on it, eg. med2tw or M&B though in all lowest settings)


there's also the option to return to XP...

What I find amazing is that it is even worse than a netbook. A $300 netbook has a 1.66Ghz atom CPU and a 250GB HDD. Netbooks don't even come with Vista, they use XP, and they come with DDR2 800.

the merons were good! I had the t2500, pretty smooth the t5000 line was crap all over. The worst thing about the t2000 line is that it didn't support 64 bit, but they were among the fastest of the t line

There is no doubt of that, but his computer isn't good enough to run Vista or 7 very well at all. That's why XP would be good for him.

A friendly advice: Start saving money to buy a new laptop (or a desktop). Seriously with a rather small amount of money you can buy a laptop more decent than this one. Also check this out: Game Booster. It will speed up your gaming a bit.

i know about that, i've tweaked my laptop to it's maximum with all the net had to offer (tips, tricks, software..etc)


and im going to buy a super-duper laptop next year, since im going to university (im still at the 11th grade, so next year i'll go to 12th and then to university) during the 12th grade (my b-day at march 27 is right in the middle)

becouse my grandparents (who're lucky to have a very good lifestyle) promised that they would gave us (all their grandsons, wich are me and my 2 brothers, since they only had my father as son) to give us a super-duper computer, at a price around 2000 euros (or 2713 dollars ), obviously the less the best

so i might just wait till next x-mas or my birthday

Yea but know that you'll get a better desktop and a nice real portable laptop with that price. Superduper laptop is outdated in 2 years. What then? Spend another 2000€?

Exactly, that's why I bought a Netbook, I was able to buy an awesome gaming PC that I can upgrade for several years, and have a portable computer that gets 9 hours of use per charge.

For the same price I could have bought 1 gaming laptop with performance not even half as good as my desktop and then have to replace it in a couple years is it even lasts that long before developing problems.
