I must read and do a report for my English Class about a novel of a 19th century British writer. I was thinking at Lewis Caroll, because LSD and Alice in Wonderland gives you a hell of a trip, plus it's an important point in literature: absurd, precious absurd! Oh, Dickens, Hardy and the Bronte sisters are taken. Maybe there are some good Victorian wrriters not that famous, but still very good, that i can read.
So, what is your favourite 19th British writer? Mine are Thomas Hardy and Lewis Caroll, but my all time favourite 19th century writer is Dostoievski.

Technically Conrad was a Victorian writier. Heart of Darkness was published in a British newspaper/journal in 1899.
