One thing i have wondered about the trait good with infantry or good with Calvary which the Generals get. Most armies have both infantry and Calvary so does the trait apply when he commands a mixed army or to only infantry or Calvary army's.

Neither. +1 Command is +1 Command. As long as there is a unit that has the infantry type in a force that the general is a part of, then there's +1 Command Gained.

You sure? maybe I didn't get it - the +1 command star for eg. 'good wit cav' shows on strat map as soon as you have only cav in the army (and I think you got to move them once or something. Sometimes I remember you may move a unit out of a stack but the generals' command isn't newly counted, so the +1 doens't appear. Might lead to mistakes when testing.)
It doesn't ever appear on strat-map when their is only one other unit INCLUDING the general's bg. I.e. a rider-bg-general with ,good with in' will have this star never shown on strat map. (At least a most recent testing showed me this.)
But I also thought it might work inspite of this for the particular units in battle. How do you know btw?
