I know what you mean, the startup can be a bit slow if you're impatient like I am and not sure what the hell you're doing. It kills game but if you want to cheat first download ESFeditor and look at this http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=341642.
I had Artmoney back before I got Windows 7 in January, I used it for Empire on like half of my campaigns (France and Britain I believe, I pwned hardddd) and it wasn't that hard, either. I'm just too tired to download it again and relearn how to use it XD
Losing battles in Total War since Rome.
"Death is nothing, but to live defeated and inglorious is to die daily."
Napoleon Bonaparte, Emperor of the French
Shouting the Battle Cry of Freedom - The story of Lt. Col. William J. Barker and the 71st Ohio Infantry
He has a point - if you just want the game to be really easy set the difficulty level to easy - everything costs less, battles are even more of a walkover etc.
You want lots of money? - disband all your starting armies, sell Gibraltar to Spain in exchange for peace, build lots of merchant ships and send them to the trade nodes along the west end of the map.
By the end of 1805 you'll be rolling in money and can raise several full stack armies to take, loot and abandon French cities.
And all without cheating.
yeah britain is the easiest faction to play for gettin cash just make sure you get the trade nodes and its all gravy
Try to google Cheat-o-matic.
It's a freeware.
Launch NTW, then launch Cheat-o-matic. It scans certains value of memory.
First enter the money you have, scan, buy a unit (spend money), rescan, buy a new unit of structure, rescan, and bingo!
Cheat-o-matic finds where in the RAM the money is saved. Modify it, put for instance 500 000 000, click "set", and voilą, you are now the richest empire of the world.
Enjoy.
EDIT: it's also the best way to stop playing a game in 2 or 3 hours, cause it makes it totally DULL.
But you asked for a money cheat, here it is![]()

hmm...maybe you could learn to play the game well like the rest of us did and not cheat but make money legit!
Rerember...keep your army at a minimal size, the navy big enough to beat others and protect your trade routes and raid others.
Trade with as many people as possible, you can make far more money than you need just with trade if you have enough trade nodes.
And keep taxes balanced so you get enough money, but the population dont revolt.
The most important thing is tokeep your forces only as big as they need to be. When i first played ROME total war, i made a massive army, 3 times bigger than what i needed, so i went very bankrupt.

"Peccavi" or "I have sinned"
Message from British General Charles Napier to the Governor General of India, to inform him of his capture of Sindh, (I Have sinned/Sindh).
I have played ETW and NTW for more than a 50 hours and find the best experience is to play campaigns and battles on very hard but use art money to set my cash to 1 million from the get go. I use the money to dramatically kick start trade. I defend this to myself on the basis that in real life it was the invention of the London stock exchange and Govt bonds which allowed Britain to wage war as successfully as they did. For reference read, "From Money to Capital, 1801-1851". I ONLY ever play as Britain because I cant stand the thought of fighting against Britain and killing British troops. :-)
Money cheat as Britain? Does not compute.
Moved my bug question elsewhere...you shouldn't cheat on games![]()

Wonder why i post a lot? I love the blonde to my left
The Crimson Prince.
If the game was more easily moddable I would give all the factions a lot more starting money but reduce city recruitment slots so they have to spend more of it on trade ships and internal improvements rather than on spamming endless stacks of line infantry and militia...
you can use artmoney or cheat engine
