    Default Castle Designing

    Hey guys, well i got some info that its impossible to re-create your castle like helms deep, ect castles. Im not talking for the players to do it, like it pre-made by the TATW team. And its gonna kinda suck if we get the battle of helms deep and we dont get a castle that doesnt even look like it. My friend made and Empire total war mod, which is called Pirates of the Cariabean. Him and the POTC made a great mod. which i am getting soon, its still being worked on he says. But they were able to make castles and put them on Historical battles list and they were pre-built by the POTC team. And so idk why we cant do it, but they can. So idk whats wrong but it will kinda suck if we cant get a easy map like Helms deep and The black gate. And if the case is we cant have easy castle's like those, im not gonna play it much! so idk.

    Not sure what you made this threas for. Are you asking what is possible custom-castle wise or are you just stating that it sucks if no one does it? Neither of this justifies starting a new thread IMO...

    Anyways, as far as I know, custom castles in historical battle are no problam at all, this has been done before, just to implement them into the campaign map is problematic.

    Im talking about costum battle. Not historical. I just want to know if the new maps based on the movie/story if they are availiable for costum battle too? And i didnt mean for it to suck. But for costum, like when you can select any faction and play at that castle.

    See the Minas Tirith custom battle as well, there's a stickied list of custom battles in the "resources" section.

    Ooops, yeah these are historical battles. I'm 99.9% sure it's not possible for custom ones for the same reasons as with the campaign.

    hey J=A=L - in this case i have good news, because it to 100%
    possible to use historical battles as custom battles. but what i dont
    know is if these custom battles (custom battle maps) can be integrated
    in the campaign - but it should be possible since in other M2TW games/mods
    there are significant battle map models in campaign siege battles.
    (like minas thirits white wall battle map)

    i found it out when doing my helms deep battle - this is how:
    USE YOUR BATTLES AS A MAP FOR CUSTOM BATTLES:
    you can copy the folder of your custom created historical battle to the folder for
    the custom battles (the one where "grassy plain" is located) to make it available
    in the custom battle map selection (but units and deployment areas are not existing than)
    there is a different workaround to make it 100% running well but it is possible. thats why i'm
    about to start to create such battles for TATW 1.5 - no matter if they are integrated and
    if as historical battle and/or custom battle and/or campaign battles.

    i keep you updated when i succeed.

    that's great news i guess i already read somewhere that it is also possible to change the textures of walls and buildings to whatever you like but there only is a problem with placing and pathfinding..

    it seems quite some progress has been made lately with custom battle development

    I haven't got much knowledge. But doesn't every level of city/castle have its own files for maps? If so it could be done just like with the strat map models for the cities, like for example byzantine huge city for Edoras.
