    Icon14 Patch 3.1: Content list

    Hi everyone! As you may already know, the RM team is working on a new release of Rome Medieval. Patch 3.1 will aim to drastically improve playability and add medieval features to the mod. This is the list of things it will include:

    - New custom battle maps.
    - Night battles available in campaign.
    - New city models for the campaign map.
    - New ship models for campaign map. NEW!
    - Alexander compatibility included.
    - Culture-specific voices in their native language (Spanish, French, German, Italian, English, Russian)
    - Prebattle speeches
    - Around 10 5 historical battles (the RM2 battles plus six/seven two/three new HBs)
    - Some unit models fixed.
    - Major rebalance of units stats and costs
    - Few new animations for archers, crossbowmen, gunners, cannons, cavalry units and some infantry units.
    - New Crusades campaign (to be confirmed) no regional campaigns.
    - Smoke and specific sounds for cannons
    - Complete sprites remake.
    - Some gunpowder units.
    - Some hero units: William Wallace, Henry V (HB only), Jeanne d'Arc and Balian of Ibelin
    - Units descriptions
    - Multiplayer mode switcher included
    - Medieval Traits & Ancillaries system.
    - 4-turns-per-year script + other campaign scripts.
    - New battlemap light settings.
    - Medieval building textures. NEW!
    - New Faction: Grand Duchy of Lithuania NEW!
    - Spanish translation NEW!
    - Minor general fixes and additions

    The sounds pack will be featured as a separate download, because it will be a heavy thing and it will extend the loading time of the mod (just when starting, not when loading battles or campaign game).

    I think the patch will be ready by end of the year/begining of 2011. Some things, like the costs and balance of stats, are already finished, but some others, like the voices stuff, are on their early stages of development. There's not much to show, as the major things are still being worked on, but I'll give out some preview screens on the future.

    I have made some basic animations for archers that will replace the vanilla ones, which are the ones that the mod is using right now. Don't expect anything great, just a bit more realistic.

    Lord Drake is making some tests regarding growth rate... With the results of the tests, the RM team will evaluate if it's a good idea or not.

    Anyway, that would be included into "Minor general fixes and additions."

    I think the units and prices are just fine ..i mean i can recruit cheap armies to defend right away..... if i have population, and most country has units of spearmen with 0 turn recruit rate so that's great because you dont have the invincible army of cavalry anymore instead you use cavalry to flank the main line of spearmen so please don't change the train time (0 turns for first spearmen) , the rest of the units do wathever you want with them and about the culture specific languages i want to understand what they are speaking so english in my opinion is better because is more widely spread

    Do you have plans to make a grenadier unit? Like nafutuns (or however it's spelt) from Medieval 2 Total War (which I don't have). One idea I have that might work is just modify the slinger animation and give them a lower range.

    EDIT: And when you do get guns working, you must finish the patch within 3 hours of the post, or my head will explode due to lack of gunzzz. (lulz)

    I wouldn't necessarily change it, but maybe add a bunch of buildings that add to happiness.

    so you like having +12.5 population grow and run out of money in building settlement upgrades and soldiers....

    Hi friends,

    about gunpowder units,I have just finished adding 3 RIFLE UNITS to RM and will be included in patch 3.1, units are: Janissary Musketeers, Arquebusiers, Desert Musketeers (models are from EW mod)
    cannons animation has been fixed too.

    about population grow,this issue is fixed too
