    Default SPQR and the people

how many missions does it usually take till the people start liking me. Its been over 50 years and i have done all the missions but the bar shows only 4 dots. It's only me and Syracuse left. Plus the senate only gives out only two positions now. Am i doing something wrong or what because i really want to take over Rome and become and emperor

does anyone know how to gain popularity? I always get messages saying you have gained favor with the people but when i check it is still the same.

Welcome to the TWC forums YoungWarlord

To answer your question, your popularity goes up with the more settlements you conquer. Once you have over 50+ settlements, your popularity should be very high and you will soon, if not already be allowed to attack the Senate. The Missions given to you by the Senate only increases your Senatorial approval rating. And that only determines the likelihood of your family members getting elected to Senatorial offices. It doesn't matter what your rating with the Senate is. You just need popular support if you wish to attack Rome.

thank you for the tip and the welcome. I use to play medieval 2 and a friend recommended i buy this game so i did. He told me to get this mod because the vanilla sucks and so far it has been fun. Just had to get use to taking missions from the senate. In MTW2 if the pope told me to do something i cold just tell him to shove it. I see a second one of these is coming out soon so i better start learning these new armies

Welcome to the forums. And if you do decided to play as Rome Start slowly. But don't be to slow. My advice would be take the hole of Italy first secure it build up you economy and then go on the rampage. Its quite fun.

You can play the normal game mode which does not include the Senate. You will start with Rome that way, too. You won't have the senate wanting your faction leaders suicide, but you also won't get the bonuses for completing missions.

I had them ask me to make my faction leader (who had really high command/influence/management) commit suicide, i refused outright and they outlawed me or wahtever they do, so i had to send him all the way back from egypt to destroy them.

God, I only ever played as the Julii, I can't even remember the last time I played a game with more than one Roman faction (possibly apart from SPQR, which has a Roman faction and SPQR), but that doesn't really count because it's not THAT hard to smoosh them.
