Can somebody please tell me how I can get the music mod add on (punic music) to work on RTR PE 1.9? I hear no music in the game aside from on the battle map. Please explain to me step by step as though I were a six year old cose I cant seem to figure it out. What folder should I nstall it into and how do I acess it? This is driving me nuts.

    Hey dude.

This is from the readme from Marcus Camillus' fine Musicmod for RTR-PE (which I believe has no music once you install it). All kudos & credits &c should go to him, I'm just reprinting it here 'cos I had to do this myself the other day & it's on my desktop.

    So...

    Installation Instructions:
    -------------------------------------------------
    1. If it exists (due to the use of a previous music mod), make a copy of the following directory and retain it in case you wish to remove this mod.

    Rome - Total War\Data\sounds\music

    2. Make a copy of the following file and retain it in case you wish to remove this mod.

    Rome - Total War\Data\descr_sounds_music.txt

    3. Run the install program "Marcus_Camillus_RTR_Music_ReMix_Mod.exe". Select the install directory to be the directory of your "Rome - Total War" you wish to install this mod in. (Example: c:\Program Files\Rome - Total War). The install program will then install this mod.

    4. After the auto installer has finished installing the Marcus Camillus' RTR Music ReMix Mod, the auto installer will run a "music_reset.bat" batch file. This batch file will rename any existing "events.idx" and "events.dat" files in your Rome - Total War\Data\sounds directory (a sub-folder of the one you chose as an install location) to "events_backup.idx" and "events_backup.dat". This step must be done to allow the new music to be heard in game. If this is not done, only the original RTW music will be heard in game. If you install this mod to a separate folder and then move the files to your RTR install folder, you will need to manually run the "music_reset.bat" file, or manually rename the above files yourself. If you wish to remove this mod at a later date, just rename these 2 files minus the "_backup" part of their name.

    5. Start up your game like normal. Marcus Camillus' RTR Music ReMix Mod is now available for your in game music. Enjoy!

Obviously if there's no auto-installer in your music mod then you have to rename the events.idx & events.dat files yourself & put the files in the right place yourself; this should be easy as you can follow the original directory structure.

You can also choose to use your new music mod with just a mod-foldered mod rather than every copy of a game; to do this you simply replace the path of "...blahblahblahrome total war\data\sounds" with "...blahblahblah\rome total war\modname\data\sounds".

ok I think the problem was that after the install the auto installer didnt run a "music_reset.bat. It just gave me the options to either open the readme or exit so I guess I have to dl it again from a different source.Hopefully thats all it was. Thanx.
